Playa Blanca Unit 4 is a fully furnished and beautifully decorated 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom beachfront condo for 5. Standing on the sandy beach of Half Moon Bay just feet away from the water where guests will find some of the best snorkeling in Riviera Maya.

Thoughtfully Curated for Beachfront Comfort

Tastefully decorated in bright and colorful textiles and tiles with elegant clean lines, Playa Blanca creates a comfortable space for up to five guests. The decor is modern and chic with bright green and blue hues, warm whites, and woodgrain tile flooring. The fully equipped kitchen features the appliances you need to prep delicious meals and drinks during your stay. There’s also a dining table for 5 plus a high-top table for 3. The living space has a large, comfy L-shaped couch for lounging, a smart TV, and a convenient workspace.

Fantastic Location

A great escape with all the modern comforts of home with the addition of sparkling blue waters. Walk down the steps into the ocean, and soak up the sun on the beach. Stroll over to two of Akumal’s favorite restaurants, La Lunita and La Buena Vida. Playa Blanca has the ideal location to explore Akumal from Yal-Ku Lagoon to Akumal Bay on foot, by bike, and by golf cart. Adventurers ready to discover more of Riviera Maya will find themselves just a short drive from the most important attractions. Tulum is 15 minutes from Akumal, PGA Golf is only 5 minutes away, and all the most sought after natural eco-parks are less than 30 minutes from Playa Blanca.

Accessible Luxury

Gaze upon the Caribbean from the kitchen, dining, or living areas, and even the master bedroom through Playa Blanca 4’s floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and windows. These sliding doors lead to a fully furnished terrace with a table for outdoor dining and patio-style furniture to take in the view. The master bedroom has a full bathroom with a shower, a king bed, and wall-to-wall accordion-style folding shutters for privacy or a view of the ocean. The second bedroom sleeps up to three with a queen bed and a double trundle bed, and it has its own en suite bathroom. This unit has AC in both bedrooms and the living room areas to cool off, and there are shaded palapas on the beach to share among all condominium guests.

Fabulous!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Akumal and our stay at Playa Blanca. The condo is directly on Half Moon Bay with a balcony right on the beautiful beach. The condo was pristine and the daily maid service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The grounds are immaculate…they even take the sand each morning. The condo is equipped with everything you could possibly need: cold AC, Coffee pot, blender, juicer, beach towels, ice maker, laundry room on premises…It’s decorated beautifully and uniquely.. you truly feel like you are in a Mexican home. The beach is lovely and sandy but it is a bit rocky for the first 15 feet into the water, so water shoes are a must. Once you pass the rocks, the snorkeling is wonderful. We saw bright fish, turtles, sting rays, sea urchins, coral, even an octopus! It’s totally worth a few rocks (they are generally smooth rocks and the sea is pretty calm). The condo sits in an exclusive private neighborhood with security and entrance passes. Just across the lane is a small market and there are several wonderful little restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. At the end, within walking distance is a snorkeling lagoon that is rich with sea life. Just outside the gate are many more shops and restaurants as well as the entrance to Akumal Beach, where you can swim with wild sea turtles. Our week here was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations ever! GO!

Sargasso Sea

Beautiful Condo located right on the beach of Half Moon Bay Akumal. Staff was attentive and very helpful. Stove top/oven did not work properly during our stay which made our plans for home cooked meals very difficult. Groceries were much higher price than we expected for Mexico. The early arrival of the sargassum seaweed (beyond anyone’s control) totally ruined any opportunity to enjoy the beach. Condo owners did not have the manpower or means to effectively clean the beaches and the stench was overwhelming. Snorkeling and swimming were not enjoyable due to the extreme Sargassum levels. The community of Half Moon Bay is apparently looking into installing an experimental Sargassum barrier to help with the seaweed levels.. but reviews are not very optimistic. The people and community of Half Moon Bay with its restaurants and shopping were delightful. Unfortunately, without the beautiful Caribbean beaches this condo is way overpriced.

Cute charm and great location

Loved this place and would go back ! Good location and quiet. Easy beach access, short drive to Tulum. Great communication with property. Well appointed. The only teeny drawback was that the master shower windows had no covering so neighbors could see into shower…. But we hung a towel over door to cover. Really cute and comfortable! Loved it, and recommend it!

Great location, comfortable apartment, fabulous view

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Playa Blanca #4. The unit is very large and spacious, and extremely well-equipped. Everything you could need in the kitchen, modern appliances including gas stove, and lots of snorkeling / beaching / swimming equipment too - fins, masks, life jackets, noodles, boogie boards etc.. The king bed is very comfortable, and the living room sofa is huge and comfy as well. Internet and Netflix worked fine. I would call the decor eclectic, funky, folksy - not chic and modern as the ad says. But that's not a criticism, it has a charming Mexican vibe and plenty of colour. There's no bathtub, although the ad shows one. The master now has a large tiled shower in the ensuite. But who needs a bath when it's 30 C / 85 F degrees outside? The ocean is steps from the apartment, and a great place to go for a soak. The reno isn't brand new, so there is the inevitable wear of salt air and damp. But unless you're expecting pristine, you won't be disappointed. It looks just like the pictures.
