Experience the wonder of Southern Colorado with this lovely cabin located on the banks of the Rio Grande River. This home has an open-concept layout, a warming wood stove, and a large, furnished deck with a gas grill - perfect for spending time with your group, no matter the season. The six-person hot tub and outdoor fire pit make this home ideal for an outdoor-centered getaway.

Nestled on the eastern edge of the Rio Grande National Forest, South Fork is a peaceful community at the juncture of the South Fork and Rio Grande Rivers. Explore beautiful South Fork on foot and hit the trails which offer easy and challenging hikes ranging from a half-mile to five miles in length. Wind your way through the forest into the wilderness or set out on horseback to take in the stunning mountain scenery. And when the snow is falling, the Wolf Creek Ski Area is just 7.5 miles south of this rental, making it one of the closest lodging spots to the slopes.

Check in wasn’t to bad the key pad would not work had to call the property management company to get access to the lockbox. The kitchen was great everything inside the house was as it should be clean really nice place. Only complaint is the hot tub was dirty notified management company and they never responded.

Great day. Bring your own firewood.

We loved everything about our stay, but when we arrived to the cabin, it was 55° in there. Based off the pictures, I assumed there would be plenty of firewood. When we arrived, there was only one large log. My husband owns a firewood yard so it would’ve been nice to know to bring our own firewood before we left. Other than that, everything was great!

Could be better

The hot tub(the only reason we rented this cabin) was gross and would not heat up more then 86° which was depressing. The couch was dirty and wasnt comfortable at all. We loved the views but really wanted to use the hot tub. Also the dishwasher leaked everywhere..

Great location by the river

My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at this wonderful cabin. We obviously did not need the extra beds but it would definitely be roomy enough for a family of 4. It was very clean and they communicated clearly and timely. We loved listening to the rushing river and spent most of our time on the deck. Enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated Wi-Fi and cable when it got cold outside. Nothing negative to say about our lodging at all. The only negative thing I would say about the town of South Fork is you’d better love Mexican food or you’re out of luck! We were sad to see so many restaurants had closed down in town. Ramon’s is excellent but we were hoping for an American breakfast joint that had more of a sit-down atmosphere than Rachel’s. But if you’re staying in South Fork, the cabin was great.

Cabin on the River

We had a wonderful time in this cozy cabin on the river, just a short 15 minute drive to Wolf Creek Ski Area. During our stay, we had everything we needed in the cabin. It snowed over 20 inches while we were there. If you’re visiting during winter, have a 4 wheel dr vehicle. A few vehicles were stuck in the neighborhood and we couldn’t get on the road until 11am. The stars at night are Amazing!

Comfy and cute

Plenty of space! Lovely waterfront view. Check in and checkout were so easy . I didn’t feel like we had to do anything at checkout, which was awesome . Bring spray or oil for pans. Only salt and pepper provided. All paper products amd trash bags were adequate for our needs. Felt all rugs needed a better vacuum,couch too. But, otherwise clean.

Love this place!

I almost don’t want to leave a good review for this place because I don’t want it to get so in demand that I can’t rent it again! This beautiful place was perfect for my sweet family! Felt right at home and loved the river and hummingbirds!

Wolf creek skiing

My wife and I stayed here Jan 29-3. The place was fantastic—ultra clean, well stocked, plenty of room and a fantastic setting. Short 10 min drive to Wolf creek skiing. National forest and state land access everywhere. We will definitely be back. As a bonus, if you like sky watching then this is the place to stay. We just so happened to be here with no moon and it is unbelievable how clear and dark the sky gets. Great for observing or astrophotography.

Wolf Creek skication

So convenient to the ski lifts. This is the closest we’ve ever stayed. We always precook and freeze dinners, but the kitchen was absolutely well stocked beyond expectations. The hot tub was warm and inviting after a day on the slopes. Would absolutely stay here again. Only two minor issues: had trouble getting into the cabin. That communication could have been better. Also, the van did get stuck in the drive, as it’s at the back of the property. Nice neighbors in a 4X4 pulled us out.

Perfect Location!

There are several cabins at this location but they are very well spaced out, this particular cabin is on the end of the drive and still felt very private and secluded. I drive up alone was amazing and the views of the national park and the natural beauty all around made our whole trip extra special. The hot tub was perfect with the cooler weather! And the chairs that were brought in later after we checked in were very appreciated! Place was great! Would highly recommend

Cute cabin right on the river...

Great views from this cute little cabin. Right on the river, amazing scenery! Had a few visits from the horses next door. Just a really great trip!
