This is a nice cabin. Great location for getting to Pinecrest Lake and hiking around Strawberry area. Loved the wood stove, and the house gets very very warm & cozy. Pretty neighborhood. Very quiet, hardly saw a soul.
Overall, the cabin could use some updating. The beds are old and rather uncomfortable. Mattresses haven't been changed in years. Springs in your back & a bit saggy. The carpets throughout the house are pretty dirty--it's very low-pile carpet that's beige so you can see the wear and tear. The upstairs bathroom shower stall leaks so you have to be strategic with the angle of the showerhead. The newer bathroom on the main level was nice and had good water pressure. All of the appliances worked well and we enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinner here.
I think for the money being charged I would expect a slightly more updated home. There were ZERO and I mean ZERO supplies. Yes, it says it DEEP in the listing about bringing all your own stuff, but I have never had a rental house that didn't provide a starter roll of toilet paper and some dish towels. Luckily I read the fine print and had packed accordingly, but it feels a bit excessive to have to bring your own EVERYTHING. Read the entire listing IN DETAIL. No TP, paper towels, trash bags, dish towels, sponge, dish soap, hand soap etc.
TP, dish soap, body soaps (sealed of course, due to covid) and a few dish towels, and a sponge would be more welcoming and would feel less cheap. There are any number of ways to provide the basics in a sanitary way, even during covid. If you can leave silverware and dishes, I'm sure you can provide hand & dish towels, especially because there is a washer & dryer (bring your own soap) onsite. All of the appliances work, but they are VERY old, so I would suggest an update merely for the energy efficiency and cost savings alone.
Also that one child lock on the lower cupboard and not a single other one is an annoyance. You keep trying to open it over and over again. Just take it off.
Overall nice place, good location, but in need of updating and some TLC.
