Our cabin was chosen to be included in the Stay series by Northern Goods! Stay is a series highlighting some of the best stays in and around the country. This edition, Stay: Minnesota, is a collection of 21 of the best stays in Minnesota!

What you will find here:
Minutes away from local Golf, Powder Ridge Ski Resort, Wineries, Breweries and more! A beautiful and peaceful lakeside retreat on Lake Louisa to enjoy with family and friends. This newly acquired lake home in the small, quintessential town of South Haven, MN is located on a dead-end road and boasts 360 feet of lakeshore, giving phenomenal views. As you drive down the road, you will have that “up north” or “woods of Wisconsin” feel, located just 1 hour west of the Twin Cities and 30 minutes south of St. Cloud.
This lake home is also situated near several local area golf courses (Albion Ridges, Southbrook, Whispering Pines, and Kimball Golf Club just to name a few) as well as Powder Ridge Ski Area.

This vacation rental is suitable for up to 12 guests and is ideal for couples and families.

Inside:
You will find 5 comfortable, well-decorated bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, complete with a private jetted tub room. Upstairs contains a spacious kitchen that is well-stocked for preparing delicious meals and making memories. A gas grill is located on the front deck. The living room has beautiful water views and a gas stone fireplace. Each bedroom on this level has a king bed and lake views. The bathroom has a shower and separate jetted tub area. Your favorite room on the upper level will be the screen porch, which is perfect for relaxing or viewing the sunrise while sipping your morning coffee. There are cards and games located in a cabinet under the kitchen counter facing the living room to play on a rainy day.

Downstairs you will find 3 more bedrooms, all with views of the lake. 2 have a queen bed and 1 has 2 sets of bunk beds, which makes this super fun for the kids. There are baskets of books for both kids and adults. The cozy family room has plenty of seating and a smart TV for movies or favorite shows. All the bedrooms have TVs except the bunk room. A 2nd bathroom contains a shower. Another fun feature of the lower level is the old-fashioned bar and a 1980 classic arcade game featuring the original Pac-Man Arcade Game, containing 14 classic games. The game list includes a variety of Pac-Man games, Dig Dug, Galaga, and more. Mix up your favorite drink and swap stories before turning in for the night. There is also a laundry room you are welcome to use, and an iron and ironing board can be found here too.

Outside: An amazing backyard oasis that includes a hot tub, large patio with dining tables, a private sand beach for the kids to play or work on your tan, and a firepit to have toasty campfires. In addition to the patio seating, there are 6 comfortable Adirondack chairs.

**This property has 2 levels with outside access to both levels. In addition, there is a spiral staircase to move from main floor to lower level inside, which includes an attached baby gate at the top.

Lovely home and yard!

This home was great for our family gathering. Kitchen well stocked. Beds were very comfortable and lots of room for a everyone. Very easy home to have younger kids as there are minimal to no knick-knacks to worry about! (there is a spiral staircase, but there is a gate at the top for safety if needed) Yard was great. Nice sandy area for kids to play. All enjoyed the hot-tub and kayaks!! The lake was a weedy but once we pushed the swim raft out a bit it was better. Fun fishing off the dock.

Incredibly cozy book club trip

We had 11 girls stay on the property for a cozy November weekend it was the PERFECT getaway. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, they had the whole place set up and were quick to respond and help when I couldn’t figure out the fire place. We will absolutely be coming back next year if we’re able to!

Fabulous Fall Retreat

We could not have asked for a more picturesque property for fall colors. The house had a beautiful panorama of the changing leaves. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great house on a small lake

Our extended family had a great week-long stay. We were able to cook meals for our group of 10 in the kitchen and seat everyone together around the big table. The house layout worked well for different activities and games, whether we wanted to be together as a whole group or find a quiet spot to read. The lake was fun to play in and we made good use of the canoes to explore the area.

Family Fun

Wonderful

Our vacation spent at this cabin was exactly what we wanted. The cabin met our needs, the location was fairly private, the views were beautiful and the time with family was precious. We rented a pontoon locally that was delivered to the boat launch and we had a wonderful time touring the lakes. We also took advantage of the kayaks. Fishing off the dock proved to be very worthwhile, as we caught large and small mouthed bass, crappie, blue gill and pumpkin seed. Most were good sized, and would have made a good meal, but we had fun with catch and release. We highly recommend this lovely cabin for your family getaway!

Wonderful Retreat

Even though the weather didn’t really cooperate for our stay, we greatly enjoyed the property. The hot tub was luxurious and our 4 year-old loved the books, games and puzzles that were available. The screened in porch and kayaks were nice touches as well. Would definitely recommend and consider going back.

Perfect large gathering space!

This property was lovely for our family of variety ages and interests! Great spot on the lake for so many activities - boating, kayaking, playing in the sand, hot tub, game space, grill-outs, campfires and more! Lots of yard space (although fairly sloped). Things for babies and 60 year-olds alike. Even with not so great weather, there were great spaces for us to play games and make great food inside as well. So many pros about the space! Kitchen was also well-stocked with everything we needed. Only suggestion would be to get some decent toilet paper! The lake was also pretty weedy during our stay but a storm had been rolling through. Thanks for sharing your spaces with my family!

Great Family Getaway

Really great property for a family or group gathering. The house was great with 2 levels to hang out in, screened in porch, and awesome area to hang outside. The kids loved the hot tub and roasting s’mores by the fire. We would definitely recommend this property.

What a fabulous house!

We loved our week here! So many cozy places to relax. The screen porch was the favorite, as well as the chairs by the beech. The kids caught fish from the shore and the dock. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. It had everything we needed

Summer family trip

My family of 8 adults and 4 children had a wonderful week stay in June. The house held us all very comfortably. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and cocktails in the evening. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Also lots of refrigerator space. The patio was wonderful! The owner was very responsive to all our needs. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

Family reunion and pink hat tribute

Best lake house of the 4 we have rented in central Minnesota. The kayaks, swim platform, screened in porch, hot tub, beach towels and life jackets supplied, sandy beach area for the kids, and plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 growing boys was perfect. Also the lake was warmer for this time of the year than expected and we had 80 degree days all 7 days. No mosquitoes to speak of. An extra kayak or two would have been nice We finally got the temp difference between the upper and lower floors to even out after playing around with thermostat. We have no lakes like this to rent on in Ohio

Lovely!

This was the perfect place for a family girl's weekend! We had 7 people including grandma and had plenty of space. The location is very private and the lake views are breathtaking. We enjoyed the hot tub, a walk through the woods to a country park, cooking our meals in the kitchen and had plenty of space to do a puzzle and play games. The hosts are extremely responsive, organized and have thought of all the little details for a clean and cozy stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would love to come back in the summer.

Extended family gathering

We wanted a place for our extended family to stay near Annandale after a funeral. It was a great place to gather for meals, story sharing and card games. It was cold but a few people even used the hot tub. I will say that the gravel road to reach this house was ice covered and I would recommend a SUV or a vehicle with higher clearance in winter. The driveway was also icy; however, owner had someone come and salt and sand for us.
