I stayed in the hostel for 2 nights. I had problems checking in, because I didn't have a passport with me. I had my (german) ID, but they told me they don't accept international IDs. They asked me if I can show them a picture of my passport, or if I can call someone to take a picture of my passport. I stay in the USA for a year, I didn't think I would need my passport while travelling IN the USA. The receptionist told me to call the boss to ask if I was allowed to check in or not. The boss asked which nationality I have and then I was allowed to check in, because "the boss has a good day". Why does it matter where I'm from!? The expedia website says "check-in available 24 hours". This was not the case. They told me check-in starts at 3pm. I was in a room with 8 beds. You can close the door of the room, but there is an other door in the room, with a sign "staff members only". The staff members usually went through our room, also at 7am in the morning. I was in the room with an other guy, he was on his computer and I was on my phone. At around 10pm one of the staff members came in in our room, told us they turn the light off now, because it's already the quiet hour, if we want to use our devices, we should go down in the lounge. I told her we are only two people in the room, we are ok with it if each other uses his device. Then she said "These are our rules". Unfriendly.
But: you can use the kitchen & fridge, daily activities (like playing Uno), the room was clean.
