    PRECIOSA PLAYA EN NUESTRO ANIVERSARIO 24

    El hotel se encuentra en una playa enorme y preciosa. Los empleados del hotel y todo el servicio en general, salvo la atencion de recepcion, es casi perfecto. (Ojo, ellos nunca tienen cash.) Todo el personal es muy amable, solo requieren de una palabra de preocupacion hacia ellos, su vida y lo que hacen. Un gracias es suficienta para que sonrian y una propina extraordinaria es de 5 dolares para ellos. Son gente humilde y alegre. Maravillosos. Sobre las habitaciones, dire que son comodas y si se ve un poco antiguo en general, pero la verdad es que tiene un encanto especial. Estvumimos en una Jr Suite beachfront cove, perfecta, la 2072. Nosotros lo disfrutamos mucho. LA playa de ropa opcional es pequeña pero linda, para mi gusto falta ampoliar la zona de sol, el ambiente tranquilo es perfecto y el grill de la zona increible. No dejen de probar los lamb chops. Sobre la comida dire que no es nada especial, muy simple pero suficiente, sobre los tragos estuvieron excelentes, buenas marcas, nada aguados, champagne de origen italiano (prosecco) , vino chileno (regular) el blanco mejor que el tinto. Pasamos una semana maravillosa y volveria sin pensarlo. Me gusto sobre todo el ambiente de paz y tranquilidad que se respira, No party at all!

    Disappointed

    We had tried to cancel hotel as at time of booking we didn't know that the hotel had a nudist section. This didn't appeal to us but although the hotel was willing to accept us cancelling Expedia was not!! As we couldn't afford to lose the money we had to go. As thing went though we were not faced with too much nudism so it wasn't not a major problem. Reception lovely. Staff when checking in friendly upgraded to a sea view room as never given an option of room style when booking stay. Given welcome drink and refreshing cold towel which was welcome after a long drive and very hot weather. Taken to room which was a long distance from reception area but not shown whereabouts of any facilities like dining room, beach , pool etc. Would have been nice if things had been pointed out even general direction would have been helpful. Room very damp. all our clothes felt damp when we put them on. Bed linen always felt damp. Quite a dark room and not private on patio outside room door. We only stayed a couple days so didn't bother to see if we could change room. Good selection of food and beverages. All dining and kitchen staff very helpful and friendly. Considering the hotel was closing on our last day and most of the staff were losing their jobs they all behaved wonderfully and very professional. We felt very sorry for them. Although we will never go again we cannot fault the staff members who were happy and friendly.

    Ventajas: Friendly happy staff members.

    Inconvenientes: Everything but as hotel is being demolished not really relevant question.

    Not a good experience

    Spent 4-22 to 4-26 at this resort ...found out after we got there that the hotel was closing to be torn down 4-26. Restaurants we not open like expected. The hotel did not have the supplies they needed. Called room service and was told they didn't have Caesar salad the first time . Second time they had salad but no dressing at all and ended up putting some warm mustard flavored stuff on salad which wilted the dressing. And that was supposed to be a Caesar salad . They ran out of things to make drinks. The food was overall not great at all. The only good thing I will say is the night we were able to go to the one restaurant Olives that ended up open we had a very nice experience . Our room air conditioner stopped cooling our 3 rd night and they sent up someone who didn't fix it. But the entire time it was running our room was filled with water that was running out of the air conditioning . Our last night there the aid conditioner went nuts and kept us awake all night sounding like it was going to blow up,and throwing out warm air..

    Disappointing with the Hotel

    I was very disappointed with the hotel for not advising me that the hotel was closing for renovation on April 26, 2015. I have booked this trip in February and there was plenty of time for them to advise me of the closing not when I arrived on April 19, 2015 to tell me this news. The food was horrible. There was not much of selection of restaurants as they have posted in their website. They alternated the restaurants every other day. There were only 2 restaurants opened and then the buffet, which was horrible. I've been to other resorts and have seen a huge selection at the buffet and they have approximately 7-8 restuarants. This Hotel, Grand Lido, is very disappointing and misleading to guest and those who are booking the trip. Although they are closing for renovation, they don't care about this review, but tourist, be aware they will open in a year and it will have a new name, Royalton Resort. I wouldn't go and i advise those to do the same. I deserved a partial refund especially for the money that I spent and to find this out. HORRIBLE!!!!!

    Inconvenientes: honesty should have been the first priority

    If only had known

    Went days without towels, switched rooms due no curtains on Windows. Causing a day spent waiting. A/c broken in next room. We nearly paid for another resort. Long list of issues.
