Beautiful space, hot room

Absolutely beautiful location with gorgeous courtyard and pool. Advertised as A/C included but actually it's an additional cost. Made the mistake of not getting it, terrible sleeps due to insane heat in the rooms. The advertising is misleading but if you're ok with $10 ($20?) per night then get the A/C. Otherwise perfect. Breakfast included.

Nightmare!!!!

On arrival I was advised by Bridgette, owner , hotel was closed and all staff on Vacation. She stated promotion deal I got through the Expedia was part of a Summer time deal that had already expired. She said she would go ahead and accomodate us, but if we wanted air conditioning we would have to pay extra. The rooms were old and dirty, entire place poorly lit, lamps with no lamp shade, pillows with holes in them, fresh towels given to us every 2 days not before, pool use only until 6 pm, etc! Bridgette is the most rudest and unpleasant person I have ever met. I will be posting pix of my hotel stay and accommodations for everyone to see on my Facebook page!

Nightmare

sorry to say this but my stay was a nightmare, First when I got there on Thursday night about !0:45 pm I was out there till about 12:34 am ringing the door bell and nobody came out so I had to stay at a roach hotel for the in which I could'nt sleep cuz it was super hot. Finally in the morning I went back at 6 am only to find out that they weren't expecting me cuz they never recieved my reservation from yall so they said......

Wonderul experience at a great location!

I spent one night at the hotel and had a wonderful experience. Its location is the best, close enough to everything in La Calzada, but far enough to have a quiet relaxing sleep. The best thing is the attention you receive, very friendly staff and always willing to help you with anything you need. Highly recommend the place: rooms were clean, garden and exteriors are beautiful, pool has a good size, breakfast was small but very nice, and most importantly, great location! Would definitely return…

A pretty boutique hotel with a few rough edges

The first night I found a small French press coffee maker in my room, espresso cups with fine spoons, fresh coffee, ready ice water, and a big bathroom and shower, premium bedding and towels. However, service noticeably declined following the first night in that I never again saw the standard I witnessed when I arrived. The French Press was never returned to my room, nor were the gorgeous teaspoons, a fact I made a point of making as I didn't want to associated with their disappearance. Then one day the owner was tasking the skeleton crew endlessly, and my room failed to be cleaned or have the bed made. I had to ask for new soap, and forego the cleaning as it was after 6pm and the housekeeper had gone home. She had already had enough to do for the day would be my guess, and told the receptionist that she thought I was in the room, but I was gone all afternoon, only in the room for 45 minutes between 12pm and 6pm. Then the last night it started raining hard. There is a fair amount of seepage, although certainly nothing pooling. Under the sheet I noticed it little, but I am also an athlete. I like this hotel, but they need to do is work on consistent performance. They weren't even fully booked. And they need to do what they can to patch the roof. Standards are consistency. Hire day laborers for non-standard job duties, NEVER micromanage. Give the staff the best written instructions, demonstrations and clear expectations, and let the chips fall.

Elegance, comfort, sophistication, detail, value

Outstanding. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I booked one night, and I don't think I was there two hours before I booked three more nights. Right handy on the strip, but a VERY personalized experience. Great staff, stunning hotel, attention to minute detail. Beautiful space expertly manicured. I immediately guessed a European was behind the hotel, likely French, an hour later I guessed a French woman. That was a real good guess. Very refined.

Old world/ Colonial charm

Overall it was a good experience. I knock one star off because there wasn't hot water and I love my hot water. The wifi worked well in the common areas but faded in the rooms. It wasn't a problem as I was on vacation- put down the phone! The hostess treated me like a daughter when I fell ill on my last day. She feed me and gave me fever medication which helped me get well for the second part of my vacation to another country. Ask her about her melon jam, it's delicious. Nicaragua (Granada) has an old world colonial charm about it and Le Cigale gives you that feel with the wooden furniture designed with that time in mind(sort of like pottery barn furniture) This is a budget hotel so don't expect high end furnishings and towels. It's enough to get you by for your stay. Luis was also very helpful although limited with English we had a good understanding. He makes good pitaya juice. It's located close enough to everything but far enough from the noise. For me the location was perfect.
