First off, the three star rating to me means average. There were some really nice things about this rental, and some things that were below average. Overall, we would go back but would hope that some of the deficiencies were improved.
Let's get the negative out of the way first. To put it simply, if I had a house cleaning company that did as poor of a job I would fire them. There was a chunk of something in the microwave leaving me to believe they never cleaned it. Some of the dishes and pans were so dirty it was disgusting, so be prepared to wash anything you use before you use it. We had to wash each pan and plate prior to usage. Next, the screen was missing from the downstairs "master" bedroom so we could not open that window while there since we would have had mosquitos and other bugs had we left it open. A screen was bent up and laying on the ground outside of this window so I presume it was for that room but there was a screen missing in the living room too, so I can't say for sure. This is a 3 BR, 3 Bath home and yet the living room has just one couch. We were able to seat 3 adults and 1 child on it, everyone else had to sit on the oversized beanbag chair or on a hard wooden dining room chair, not ideal but easy to fix if the owners decided to do so. One tip - bring something to mask the noise from people moving about upper floor of the condo (ear plugs/buds or white noise machine/app). The condo has wood floors and is somewhat echo(y) We put on a white noise YouTube video just to help a little and I ended up using ear buds too. Somehow I think the washer or dryer was "locked" out (I was told) so we couldn't wash or dry anything, but this was probably a machine setting issue - just thought I'd mention it.
Now on to the positive aspects. There is a grill on the patio which worked well and we really enjoyed. The TV's are top notch although we couldn't figure out how to work the sound system in the LR so the sound wasn't as good as the picture. The beds were very comfortable but watch your shins on the ends of two of them since they stick out, and in the "smallish" rooms they can be dangerous if you (and we did) bang your leg on them. This is a great location and you can take the small bridge to the Village (short walk in dirt and rock - but it is Mammoth!). Parking was right out front and worked well. Lastly, a note about Vacasa (owner/management?), they seemed to care based on emails and text messages suggesting we call if we needed anything. In the 15 years I've been going to Mammoth, I've never had that before so it really stood out. I made the comment at one point "this is a place I could learn to love" and I stand by that. It really is a nice condo and I would recommend it with the above advice.
