Went to check in and the driver could not find the unit. We walked around trying to find the unit for about 10 min. When contacting the host his response was “ ok well I've been giving out the same directions for 20 years so I don't really know what else to give you”. we finally found the unit by a neighbor helping us because we were at their home. Upon entering the unit, it didnt match the photos posted online. There is mold on the wall in the bathrooms, the electrical outlets are falling off the wall, the pool is also dirty. This space just didn’t seem to be habitable. We let the host know we would not be staying there at the villa and will be finding other accommodations. I also inquired about a refund. 30-45 min later the host responded and said “ I can give you a free upgrade” I let the host know that We have already booked a hotel and have checked in due to the filth of the unit. The host responded and said “ OK well I responded to you immediately and offered you a free upgrade to a villa which is right next door and in fact I have 2 villas for you to chose from for the upgrade. They are both in exactly the same location.” the host refused to refund my money and no longer responded. If he was willing to upgrade clearly there was something was wrong. VRBO wouldn’t refund. I have pics of it. Seems like he gave uS the wrong unit to begin with then was going to give us the correct one after complaining.
