Whether you are looking for a relaxing escape or a cozy base camp for adventure, this lovingly maintained and cared for log cabin has it all. Enjoy hot coffee on your private balcony attached to the Master suite or enjoy a crackling fire with a nightcap in front of one of your three wood burning fireplaces. Take a hike down the Troll Trail or stride down Fairy Lane to your own outdoor stage area with a large fire pit. Ready for adventure? Pack a water bottle and grab your hiking stick, then follow the nature trail to your own hidden eighteen-foot-tall waterfall and spacious natural swimming area!

Privacy at its finest! Being on 4.5 acres, and adjacent to National Forest Service Land in the heart of the Smoky Mountain wilderness, you'll find yourself surrounded by trees, hummingbirds, and crisp mountain air. The retreat is newly updated and furnished with 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths, plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. Each sleeping area comes with a Dohm Sound Conditioner, high thread-count sheets, and the most luxurious mattresses available. Enjoy dinner while listening to the intoxicating sounds of nature on your spacious verandah with teak dining table. The cabin was wonderful escape from the heat and humidity of Myrtle Beach! The cabin was cozy and comfortable and the location was perfect - situated in between the towns of Highlands and Franklin. Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls were close and accessible. We tried to hike down to the falls on the property, but it was a little too difficult for us (three senior ladies)! We enjoyed shopping and antiquing in the area and we found some great places for dinner. The cabin was well-equipped, with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable, plenty of places to gather and plenty of places to find solitude. This would be an amazing place for families with children, with lots of places to explore around the cabin. The kids (and adults) won't even miss their electronic devices (cell service is sketchy) - a great opportunity to unplug and just enjoy the beauty of nature!I would make one small suggestion: If you plan to gather at the large table in the living room area to play cards, color, crochet or do any crafts that require good lighting, I would bring along a lamp of some type to supplement the lighting in the room. Overall, we LOVED it and were sad to leave after our 3-night stay. We hope to return some day!

What an adventure! The waterfall hike on the property is super cool, and quite a workout for people from flatland. The cabin is comfy and cozy. The kids loved the arcade. The property is on a cliff, and the yard is straight down from the house. It is secluded, so no worries of neighbors looking in, but a bit eerie with no curtains or blinds.

Was a great cabin but rained for 5 days. Had 1 day outside. Was so disappointed we were not able to hike to the waterfall as well as see sunsets. Maybe next time!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It had everything we needed and then some. The property was beautiful with wonderful hiking trails. We enjoyed the outdoor theater and hike to the waterfalls. The snow made it even more beautiful. Would definitely book again in the future.

This little slice of mountain deliciousness is the epitome of what most are looking for in a "Cabin in the Mountains" !!!! It has everything ...... literally !!! Great hosts and great location .......... I can't find a single thing I would change or ask to be different.

Loved our time in the cabin. The property was clean and as advertised. Paved road all the way to the driveway (which was unpaved, but easy). Hike to the on-property waterfall is a nice bonus. Our family had a wonderful Thanksgiving stay!

I can’t even describe how amazing this cabin is. It is in a perfect, secluded location making our stay even more relaxing. There was not a dull moment for the kids. They lived the adventures to the waterfalls and hikes around the property. They couldn’t resist a swim in the freezing, November waters of the swimming hole. The cabin was cozy and clean. Supplied with everything we needed. We will definitely be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay with friends at the Cozy Cottage. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. We even hiked to the Hidden Falls - be sure to wear good hiking shoes and take hiking sticks because there were several steep spots. Nice to have firewood available for cozy fires in the kitchen or den. The guys loved the retro video game. We would recommend this to others. The manager for the property was quick to respond to our questions in a timely manner.

Property was beautiful, property management/owner was great about check in. Materials were available to review upon entering the residence. I enjoyed the arcade machine with games from my childhood and both my wife and I thought the view from the back porch was breathtaking. Property location is close to our destination (Franklin, NC) and we were not far from the shopping in Highlands. We've got a lifted Jeep with high output lighting, so ingress and egress was not a problem. Now for the not so wonderful - on the second day we began to notice a significant influx of flies from the southernmost corner on the main floor and in both the hallway/master bedroom on the top floor. Swatting flies and eventually adding Zevo products to kill them became such a nuisance that my wife and I left a day and half early. Doesn't look like photos are allowed or I'd share the partially filled zip-lock bag that we scooped 3 hours worth into on the day when we decided to leave. Not sure what happened to cause this but may be a known issue as fly swatters were already present on the property. We could have handled a few, but this was excessive and not in places where we would have expected (i.e. kitchen). If this can or has been fixed, this cabin would be a lovely place to stay.

We had an amazing vacation in this beautiful cabin! It was perfect for our (3) and (5) year old who loved all the special touches catered towards kids like the outdoor performing area, big tree house, and the play room. There’s something for everyone here! We spent many hours enjoying time together by the fire and relaxing on the beautiful porch! We took the kids on the hike down to the private waterfall and we all enjoyed it What a spectacular property! The cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We can’t wait to go back!

our stay was very relaxing, the views from the deck were spectacular! The adults could kick-back while the children were entertaining themselves in the game room. other activities were just a short drive away: hiking, gem mining, tubing, and admiring the many waterfalls! We really enjoyed staying at the cabin. We hiked down to the private waterfall almost every day we were there. It was great having a private waterfall and swimming area.... make sure to take a walking stick to help along the trail... you will need it. Cabin and property were beautiful. I loved the fact they had sound machines in everyroom. The Arcade was pretty fun to play as well. Overall great place to stay!

We spent 7 days in the mountains and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The property manager was very informative and quick to respond to any questions we had. The location of the house was perfect for all the things we wanted to do. The house was just as described and had everything we needed. The view from both decks was picture perfect. We spent many mornings and nights enjoying the outdoor space.

This place was everything we could have asked for. Beautiful views, lots of space, and easily the most well-stocked, turn-key vacation rental we’ve ever stayed at. There’s a beautiful waterfall on the property that was great to hike to, and our kids loved the tree house, the arcade, and all of the board games and toys. Perfect for a family getaway. Can’t wait to come back!

The cabin is lovely and situated so that you feel the mountain views are all your own. Very comfy beds. Lots of games, puzzles, and plenty of other entertainment with the arcade game and all the options on TV. The chess game that is pictured in the listing is no longer present, however. I only mention it because my husband and son had planned to put it to good use, as they love to play. Very short drive to Franklin, and there are lots of beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. Highlands is nearby, but that winding drive is nerve-wracking for someone used to flat land, and we didn’t find much to do there to our taste. The waterfall on the property, sadly we never got to see. We tried, but it was much too steep. I’m impressed with how many reviewers say they made it. We were very happy with our stay and would be willing to return.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The waterfalls on the property were beautiful, careful getting to them. The path to them is not easy to hike down, so if you have mobility issues you may have to skip the hike. There are other paths on the property to walk/hike along. The cabin is secluded, you can see other cabins, but they are not close. The cabin was very roomy and comfortable. There is a Keurig and coffee pot if you need your caffeine. Plenty of pots and pans if you want to cook. The view from the master bedroom is fantastic. The mattress in that bedroom is firm. The arcade game is fun to play, many, many games. Found old games that brought back many memories from the past. There is a shelf full of puzzles and board games. We had a few family game nights. We didn't use the TV's so we can't speak to the available channels/shows. Internet was good, we were able to work remotely when needed. The heating system was tricky to first use, but we figured it out. Before our stay, the owner answered my questions quickly. We had a peaceful and comfortable stay. If we are ever in the area in the future - we would definitely stay here again.
