Formerly the Scholars Inn Gourmet Cafe and Wine Bar, luxury accomodations await you and your friends for your next visit to Bloomington and the IU campus. Every inch of this home built in 1845 has been lovingly restored with modern amenities while maintaining respect for it's rich history. All 4 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half baths are newly constructed with beautiful tile and fixtures. A brand new kitchen is situated where the bar once stood and will allow for casual or formal entertaining. The home can be rented in its entirety sleeping up to 10 people or each floor can be rented separately. The main floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 full and 2 half baths, kitchen, living room, patio and large side deck. It can accommodate up to 6 guests with ADA access. The VRBO listing for the main floor unit (A) is 1943515. The upstairs is a 1 bedroom suite with its own living room, kitchenette, full bath, bonus full-sized bed sleeping room and large outdoor deck as well, sleeping up to 4. The VRBO listing for the upstairs unit (B) is 1994566. The decor is modern, eclectic, whimsical and fun with a nod to it's past life as a Bloomington landmark restaurant and bar. There are 5 large flat screen smart TV's, 2 upstairs(B) and 3 downstair(A), board games, a sound system, vintage record player with vinyl, and lots of books for entertainment and relaxation. We are walking distance to the downtown restaurants and bars, Farmers Market and shops, as well as the IU campus and stadiums. The property is easy to get to from I-69, and we have plenty of parking. Make sure to book both listings if booking the house in it's entirety and be sure to cross-check availability. VRBO 1943515 (A) downstairs unit and VRBO 1994566 (B) upstairs.

Brothers’ weekend

This is the 3rd year in a row that my brothers and I have had an extended weekend at the KEEP. It truly is a perfect place for a long weekend. The location is ideal. The open area to hang out is amazing. We have gotten both the upstairs and downstairs each time. Hopefully we will be back again next year

We rented this upstairs apartment with the downstairs unit. Beautiful place. Two bedrooms and could easily put others on a couch. Small kitchen, but we used the full kitchen downstairs. Really nice.

Perfect stay

Everything checked out as i suspected (i had seen the downstairs unit before) and the unit is very well appointed and close to IU for parent visits. I had an issue getting sports channels on the Roku TV but maybe that was my lack of familiarity with the system

Unique Space in a Great Location

Lots of space with an awesome deck. Provided a perfect base for exploring Bloomington. Great for a small group looking to take advantage of the many restaurants and bars that are just a short walk away.

Upstairs at Scholars Inn

It was really well appointed and a great space. It was big and we did not use the second bedroom. The outside deck is a great space as well. Our parking spot was reserved with our name on it which was a nice touch. Kerry had helpful notes inside the house and was available to us if needed. Highly recommend this property.

The BEST place to stay in Bloomington

This was our second time staying here. We thoroughly enjoyed the home with a sit down dinner Friday night and a spread to watch the football games on Saturday. The upper deck was great for playing cornhole and the upstairs tables were perfect for cards Saturday night.

An absolutely incredible stay in Bloomington—we’ll be back!

We were blown away by our stay at the Scholar’s Inn Keep. It was one of the best rental experiences we’ve ever had, and we‘ve had many! I’ll admit that this property was especially meaningful for me and my husband, as Scholar’s Inn was our favorite restaurant when we were students at IU, but that was really the least of it. Here are some other factors that made our stay wonderful: - HOST: Kerry was lovely, accommodating, + responsive at every turn. We had to shift our booking dates up front and wound up needing to stay an extra day on the back end due to a flat tire.Kerry made it all happen with no fuss. She couldn’t have been kinder or easier to work with. - LAYOUT: the fact that this great property is divided into a smaller (but surprisingly spacious) upstairs apartment and a larger 3-bedroom downstairs area meant that my husband and I could stay upstairs for nearly a week and have our friends join us in the main house for the weekend. The incredible bar downstairs made it the ideal setting for a small reunion of college friends. - DECOR: many properties don’t live up to the pics, but this one absolutely does. The attention to detail in every aspect of the decor blew us away. Every inch of this property was gorgeous and functional. - AMENITIES: you name it, they had it! We couldn’t have asked for more. You could show up with just your clothes and have most of what you need for your stay. Thanks again for a fantastic stay. We will be back next year!

3 Brothers and a Friend

I have been trying to get my two brothers together for a guys weekend for years. Finally, the last IU mens home game was the opportunity. We renewed both the main floor and the top. First off, it is huge It is set up for fun and get together where you can actually talk Sure there are plenty of outstanding bars within easy walking distance but you have your own bar here literally. The rooms are nice and private. Every utensil be it bar ware, dishes, cooking wear, etc is available. It would be a great place to get up to five couples together. Ideal looking in a beautiful and easily walkable town This is THE place to stay here PERIOD

Cool, Unique Bloomington Stay

This place was so fun. Gentleman’s weekend with IU alums gathering for a Hoosier basketball game and surrounding festivities. Kerry was an excellent, communicative host, and the place is one of the most unique stays I’ve ever seen on this site. We combined it with the bottom floor property (where I spent most of my time) so kind of hard to review the top floor by itself, but it was awesome and I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed by reserving this property. Our crew and everyone who stopped by to see it was impressed and had to tour all the rooms to get the full effect. Would definitely reserve again; so glad we made this choice over our original plan of a few hotel rooms. The location added much value and enjoyment to our weekend.

Family football weekend

The property was perfect for our family of four (kids ages 11 and 13) while we were in town for an IU football game. Close to everything we needed (restaurants, shopping, and campus). We were in the upstairs unit while other guests were in the downstairs unit, but we we’re bothered by them at all. We would definitely look at booking again for future stays in BTown!

Perfect Place to Stay in Bloomington

We rented the upstairs and downstairs of this property. Communication with host Kerry was stellar before, during and after booking. Relating specifically to the upstairs - it's everything you could want or need and more. Gorgeous outdoor deck with private entry. Spacious interior including the cutest bonus bedroom you have ever seen. We adored the aesthetic. Look no further - just book this upper level! We will absolutely stay again.
