Pleiten, Pech und Pannen :-(

Wir sind als Gruppe mit 5 Mädels nach Barcelona gereist und waren sehr guter Dinge angesichts der scheinbar idealen Unterkunft. Leider stellte sich vor Ort heraus, dass so einiges überhaupt nicht ideal war: 1.) für den Zugang bekommen alle Teilnehmer der Gruppe einen digitalen Schlüssel. Ein Schlüssel für die Hauptmieterin wurde sofort verschickt - das war perfekt. Aber die Zuteilung für die 4 anderen zu bekommen war offenbar ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit . Sehr schade - hat uns viel unnötige Kommunikation mit der Agentur (inkl. eines langen Telefonats) gekostet. 2.) die Wohnung selbst hatte leider grobe Mängel, die wir auch sofort moniert hatten, die aber bis zur Abreise nicht ansatzweise behoben wurden. >> der Kühlschrank ist defekt - die Tür lässt sich nicht schließen, Es wurde eine sofortige Reparatur durch einen Handwerker in Aussicht gestellt, der aber nie auftauchte . Bis zur Abreise wurde nichts repariert. Wenn man eine Wohnung mit Küche bucht, möchte man sie auch nutzen.... >> Stühle kaputt - echt gefährlich, wenn man's nicht sieht. >> Heizung läuft auf voller Leistung - lässt sich nicht abstellen >> Achtung: sehr enge Wendeltreppe zu den Schlafzimmern. >> Zimmer sehr klein - wenn mit 2 Betten belegt ist das Zimmer komplett voll. >> Badezimmer sind extrem klein. Fazit: wir waren sehr enttäuscht und fragen uns: wie kann man die Wohnung so vermieten? Denn die abstellbaren Mängel sind offensichtlich nicht erst seit Kurzem vorhanden.....

Nothing like promised

This property’s listing is intentionally misleading. It claims to have access to a swimming pool but this was not the case. That access to the pool was not possible was not shared with us until after we had checked in and I asked how to access it. Furthermore the property is described as recently remodelled but the kitchen cabinets are sufficiently old that they are no longer aligned with fronts coming off and to properly close the integrated fridge you need to click the door back into position. The walls are grubby and the bathtubs do not have plugs so cannot be used. The kitchen is not fully equipped as promised - indeed there are no chopping boards so food preparation was a challenge and there were no serving dishes or equipment. The handle to raise the blackout blind in the double bedroom was broken and although I reported it immediately and their maintenance man came by it was not repaired by the time we left a week later. The hosts constantly claim to be there for their guests but have yet to adequately respond to my request for a refund as we would definitely not have chosen this property if we had known that it didn’t have a pool. (They simply wrote to me that they would discuss it with the property owner - to my view I was dealing with them so the refund should come from them and how they resolve it with the property owner is frankly none of my business) I feel that these hosts should not be allowed to sully the reputation of VRBO by remaining on their site. Very unsatisfactory indeed. Oh also if you do have the misfortune of dealing with these hosts insist on being sent a payment link in advance as they add a 3% surcharge on card payments even if it is a debit card.

Decent apt but with some kinks to work out

The apartment itself is fine, but we didn’t realize based on the photo and description that the bedrooms are at the bottom of a spiral staircase, which made things difficult for my elderly parents. The fittings are pretty cheap, and there’s an awkward amount of furniture crammed into one of the bedrooms. The biggest complaint is with the check-in, which is at a different location, a taxi ride away from the apartment. We hauled our 6 pieces of luggage in a taxi to the office only to be told we had to haul everything to the apartment. This information should really be provided up front. But the apartment itself is decent, comfortable, and fairly well-equipped, and the location was fantastic.

TOTAAL NIET WAT WE GEBOEKT HADDEN, ZEER SLECHTE ERVARING, KOMEN AFSPRAKEN OOK NIET NA

Vakantie geboekt, voor 3 volwassenen, en drie kids. Opzoek geweest naar een penthouse met zwembad in tuin, of op dakterras. Uit eindelijk hele mooie foto’s gezien, en deze ‘penthouse’ geboekt. - Op de foto van hun advertentie zou er een zwembad op de begaande grond zijn, wat er niet was. ( we moesten naar beneden, stuk lopen, door een trappenhal, auto garage, en daar was het zwembad inclusief het appartement wat we eigenlijk geboekt hadden, en niet gekregen hadden. - Agency heeft ons verkeerde adress gestuurd, waardoor wij met de taxi op de verkeerde plek stonden. ( 35,-€) verder. Geen excuses gehad niks, ze zouden ons een mail gestuurd hebben na de boeking met ander adres, helemaal niks ontvangen. - Er zaten traptreden los in het appartement, wat totaal niet veilig is met kinderen. - Het appartement zou bedden hebben voor 6 personen, 1 2 persoons bed, en 4 1 persoonsbedden. Uiteindelijk 2 1 persoonsbedden, met 2x losse matrassen er onder. Bedden en matrassen waren veelste hard, en kraakte ontzettend veel. ( 2 persoonsbed was prima) - Sommige lichten in het appartement werkte niet. - We vonden een dekbed aan met opgedroogde bloedvlekken, wat er heeeeel vies uitzag. - bij het openen van de badkamer deuren voelde het alsof het plafond inzakte, en maakte onzettend veel geluid. De kinderen werden er wakker van. Wij hebben meerdere malen contact gehad met de agency, en zijn niet goed, tot zelfs niet geholpen. Wij hebben er 4,5 dagen verbleven. Na de eerste dag contact gehad, en onze tekortkomingen(klachten) besproken. Die moesten we mailen, dat hebben we gedaan. Maar na de derde dag nog geen antwoord gehad te hebben, hebben we hun maar weer gebeld, ze hadden de mail niet beantwoord, en zogenaamd niet ontvangen. Uiteindelijk boden ze hun excuses aan omdat hij in de spam zat, en ze die niet geopend hadden. Laatste dag zouden ze ons contacten, voor eventuele composatie. Tot de dag van vandaag nog geen reactie gehad. Ik ben ontzettend teleurgesteld in die mensen van de agency. contstant dingen beloven en niet na komen. Wij hebben een zeer en zeer vervelende ervaring gehad daar en vind het jammer dat we niet geholpen worden. Heb het gevoel dat onze mening/ervaring hun niets uitmaakt en ze ons niet eens willen helpen. Ik raad jullie dit niet aan, verder hebben we het beste er maar van moeten maken in Barcelona.

I would not book through vrbo again

Before travelling, receiving e-amils from different addresses such as vrbo, myspace barcelona, claiming for different paying parts was quite difficult to manage. Many extra charges were not mentioned in the webpage. If you used credir card you was cahrged 3%, otherwise you have to pay cash but they did not have change. Long queues to check-in. Quite disgusting to move with your luggage from checking in point to the appartment. The air conditioner was too cold in the basement and too hot in the ground floor of the apparment. You have to open the windows so that you can sleep at night. Too expensive for the service provided. Definitely I would not book again.

A quick taxi ride to anywhere

Our family (mom, Dad and 2 sons age 13 & 11) stayed a week at this property. Well, not exactly the property in the pictures, but close (different furniture, different patio setup). I was disappointed to find out the pool was at a different location. The pool was the reason I ended up picking this apartment. The pool wasn’t far away, but since it wasn’t on-site we didn’t use it. We loved the layout. 3 separate rooms, rare in our stays abroad, was a nice touch. Our boys had their own space which was helpful. The beds are very firm and there was only sheets for bedding (we prefer thicker bedding). Pillows were cozy. Towels were fluffy and soft. There is a coffee shop on the corner which was fabulous. The house comes with a Nespresso machine, but no pods. Make sure to bring your own. Fast WiFi. Working elevator. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
