"A wonderful hotel on The Lido. Perfect for a city/beach break. Lovely staff, a very nice pool area. Although, we preferred the Blue Moon beach club. Water taxis too and from Venice and the airport. Our only criticism was the pillows were quite hard. Not our choice. Also, their ‘cosy’ cheapest room was roomy and had everything we needed. No need to spend more on a bigger room. We didn’t add breakfast, quite expensive and there are restaurants and cafes around. "

The only downside was the lack of transportation provided by the hotel — we had to either walk or take a public boat to get to St. Mark’s Square, which was quite far and tiring. However, the hotel itself was very nice."

"Right on the Grand Canal, near St. Mark’s Square, but on the other side of the Canal. It’s a little walk to the nearest bridge. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Room was a unique design but pleasant. Breakfast buffet was good. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Excelsior. This was our first time in Venice and the first stay of our honeymoon and it was a great experience! We enjoyed using the provided boat taxi to and from Venice, along with the private beach access and dining options at the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was also great. We would recommend this stay for a trip to Venice!"

"The rooms are clean, luxurious and the penthouse plunge pool was a welcome retreat. We had a room on the first floor initially but requested to be moved since the path to the penthouse pool required walking through the hotel bar. Irena at the evening reception was wonderful in facilitating the move to the 5th floor. The 1st floor room was quite dark while the 5th floor suite was much brighter with higher ceilings.
