Villa Viola is a beautiful renovated stone property set in 65 hectares of olive groves and landscaped gardens in rural Tuscany. Just 6km from the town of Sarteano, it is within easy reach of the historic Etruscan towns of Chiusi and Cetona, of charming Pienza and Montepulciano, and of the larger cities of Siena and Perugia.

The property was built in 1550 by Vittoria Piccolomini Todeschini, the niece of Popes Pius II and Paul III. It subsequently passed through the generations until 2019 when Vittoria, the granddaughter of Maria Luisa Galgani Corvi, embarked on its magnificent refurbishment. The heart of the building was retained, together with its pretty 16th century chapel, and the Conti Galgani farm estate and olive grove was established.

While undoubtedly a heavenly villa for a relaxing holiday with family or friends, Villa Viola is also an idyllic location for a wedding or special celebration. The villa’s refurbishment ensured that no tiny detail was overlooked: this is hotel-style luxury with the independence and freedom of your own home. Spacious and furnished with impeccable style, the property extends over 600m², spread across two separate buildings – a main villa and a smaller annexe.

Outside, relax on cool verandas and loggias furnished with squishy sofas and an elegant dining table, or in the shade of one of several pergolas set around the garden against a backdrop of silvery olive trees and the heady scent of Mediterranean herbs. Enjoy more wonderful views from a sunbed set on the lawned terraces around the pool.

The ground-floor entrance to the main villa leads to a tastefully furnished living room with fireplace and a Smart TV, and a dining room where you can enjoy rural views through a vast picture window while you eat. There is also a small cellar with wines which are available for guests to buy. The living room leads onto the expansive 90m² covered veranda, kitted out for alfresco dining or simply relaxing on comfortable outdoor lounge furniture. A sleek kitchen is equipped with everything you need for large-scale catering, from an American fridge to two dishwashers. Guests also have access to a vintage wood-burning oven and barbecue, and a kitchen garden with fruit, vegetables and herbs.

A bathroom, small gym and large indoor hydromassage pool complete the ground floor. On the first floor, another luxuriously furnished living room with a fireplace provides additional space for guests to spread out and relax.

In the single-floor annexe, the billiard room provides an extra leisure activity. The room can also be used for meetings and gatherings. Also in the annexe, a wheelchair-accessible bedroom with bathroom is available for those with mobility issues.

There are 7 bedrooms, sleeping a total of 14 people. All bedrooms in the main villa feature antique wooden beams and mosquito nets on the windows. They are each individually furnished with antiques, handmade artisan furniture and luxurious fabrics. Bathrooms blend contemporary style with the very best fittings.
