Which was fine but they would not tell us the check in process and were quite rude. Grabbed our luggage and more of or less told us to get lost. Very surprising! I think they make more money by not releasing rooms even if they are ready til 3pm because guests hang around and spend money in the restaurant. "we had a great night stay. the staff were really helpful, especially Luigi from reception and dominic on the bar. we found the location fab and spent all day at the park beside the hotel with the paddling pool. Was a bonus that the weather was so good. Thanks for a great stay, and if we are back we will def be returning."

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"This Hilton Hotel is superb! The reception desk people were so helpful. The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground, which is why we booked to stay there. Beefy's restaurant on the upper ground floor of the hotel was exceptional both for dinner and breakfast. One thing we would have appreciated in our room was a small refrigerator to keep wine, water and milk cold"

"When visiting Portsmouth this properties location in between the Historic Dockyards and Gunwharf Quays meant that for our three day stay we could easily walk to all of the major attraction. The fact it has its own car park was also a plus although you could easily travel there by public transport due its close proximity to the bus and rail stations. "Beautiful and comfortable room and bathroom. Very well equipped and exceptional provisions. Excellent breakfast. Great evening meal. Limited motorbike parking (lethal gravel) but found a spot on entrance paths."

"The hotel is in need of an update, with attention to detail for any renovations. The walls of the hotel rooms are thin and you can hear people in neighbouring rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially given one of our party were being disturbed by a party in the neighbouring room. Staff moved them to another room. Breakfast was ok. The spa/swimming pool is in need of some tlc."
