"The property was clearly undergoing a transformation and only partly ready for the public. However the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast was very good. Some nice touches make the stay a step above the ordinary. "

"Although we didn't get to meet our hostess, the owner/host and his staff were fantastic. The pub was cosy and clean and extremely reasonably priced and the service was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly people who genuinely cared about making our stay pleasurable. Absolutely recommend and should we find ourselves down that way again, we will most certainly stay here. Thank you. "

"Stunning country castle style hotel. Rooms finished to a very high standard. Staff were wonderfully attentive, seemed genuinely pleased to help and proud of their establishment. "Staff were really helpful and kind. Room was immaculate, bathroom was spotless and linens were high-quality and pristine. Bed was comfy, and some nice touches like local treats and toiletries. The breakfast was really good quality and reasonably priced. Biggest downside is that the room was cramped— we were on a several-day trip, so it was hard to manage our large suitcases in the space. "We received a vety friendly welcome and help to take our luggage upstairs. The room was clean and spacious. The ensuite looked in pristine condition and the shoeer was easy to usecand vety good. Breakfast had a number of cooked choices as well as the continental self service. Iverall the staff at the Drake made us very welcome and very comfortable. The jotel is well positioned for the Hoe, Barbican and Railway Station."

"Able to check in at 12 midday which was great. Lovely owners, everywhere was spotlessly clean and a fabulous breakfast. Only 5 minutes from the Hoe in a very quiet part of town, but only 10 minutes walk from the centre. Would definitely recommend it."
