"What a beautiful little find, we were met at the property by the lovely owner, a couple of very cute little dogs and a beautiful cat called Elvis and later some chickens and two very sweet little goats roaming free. The pod/cabin/accommodation is nestled in the side of a hill with stunning views, and even though there was a storm one night it was calm and quiet in the pod. "Just after Christmas I knew it wouldn't be long before i'd need my Exmoor fix. Porlock is my favourite place to be based. I went online and Hurlestone Apartment came up at a good price. It looked really homely from the photos, was pet friendly and it had parking, so I decided to book it for a long weekend. When we arrived we were greeted by Stephen. He was so welcoming. We immediately felt at home. He showed us up to the flat. As per the pictures, it felt really homely. It was well presented...

"The room was fantastic but the check in experience was very poor. We had a printout from an email which said to use the Gileston Manor Courtyard with cream gates as the entrance, upon arrival at 7:30PM (more than 3 hours before check in ended) the gates were locked and the number provided was going straight to voicemail. Texts and voicemail was left with no response. After waiting for 20 minutes with the car hazards on, on a main road, we decided to look around and parked in the Manor Estate...

"We had a fabulous time here - accommodation was spacious and comfortable with all you could wish for. There was nothing we could fault. The little extras that always make a difference were there too - fridge items, milk, butter, also sugar, tea and coffee with all the showers having having all the toiletries you could want.. Lovely host and the horses, dogs and cat were loved by our toddler. Well placed too for getting out and about. Recommend Churchland Farm and the Stable to anyone who wants...

One suggestion, a little more guidance on rubbish and recycling would be helpful, we should have asked but didn’t and only realised that there was a bin for recycling on final day, the marking on bin was towards the wall and we missed it."

"Amazing house for a short weekend away with friends. We came for Easter weekend with a large group of 19 people. We ordered pizzas from the local pizza restaurant under David’s recommendation which made cooking easier and were great pizzas that arrived nice and hot. We did spot a mouse in one of the rooms however but as people who live in the rural countryside ourselves, it’s expected in these types of properties. Overall great stay and lovely facilities- amazing hot tub and we loved the outside...
