Casa La Nuvola Varenna

La Nuvola is a very cosy apartment positioned in the historic centre of Varenna, just two steps from the lake, the characteristic beach “Molo di sotto”, from picturesque “Riva Grande” and the famous lover’s promenade on the lake. It’s extremely close to main touristic attraction further to restaurant, shops, café and bar.

The furniture mixes the most classic of woods with colourful objects of design and Italian modernariato, which match well with the prints depicting landscapes and life frames life from the most diverse corners of the world. These details tell about the character of La Nuvola, and accompany the guests throughout the three levels of the house.

At ground floor there is the entrance, dining room with steel table and walnut bench and the kitchen completely equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, gas cooker, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and all the tools needed for cooking. A stair covered in wool sand colour moquette takes to the first floor where we find the main double bedroom with A/C, balcony and bathroom with tube and shower glass door, bidet, WC and sink. On the second and last floor there is a large and very bright living room with A/C, double sofa bed 160cm wide, relax and reading area with fireplace and a stunning panoramic balcony with a lovely view over “Riva Grande” and Lake. The apartment has also a 46 inches TV, a Bluetooth Sound bar and Wi-Fi

The apartment is in the centre of Varenna, just 700 meters far from the Varenna/Esino Railway station, with trains to and from Milan at any time. It’s also 300 meters far from the ferry depot where you can take the ferry to Bellagio, Cadenabbia, Menaggio, Tremezzo and the centre of Como Lake.

Amazing view

The apartment is in a great location with restaurants, shops, the ferry and cafes all near by. The apartment has three stories with 27 stairs to climb. Great exercise but may be hard for some people. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is a good size but lacks utensils for cooking. Only had one wooden spoon and a ladle. No oven, just a microwave. The best part of the home is the terrace on the 3rd level. The view is amazing and we spent all our time out there. Varenna Holidays does a great job helping in any way. Easy to get a hold of and fast response. The only complaint is that the welcome basket you can purchase is not worth it. It included a LB of salt, a LB of sugar. a bottle of cleaning solution. The other items in the box were fine. Highly recommend this property. Varenna is so beautiful.

Great stay at Lake Como

Great stay with family (2 adults and two kids, 10 and 14). Good: - Great central location in Varenna, perfect spot - Awesome view from the balcony - Walking distance to local restaurants, small grocery store, coffee - Easy to get to ferry terminal to Bellagio, hike / train to Bellamo, hike to the castle, small local beach. All recommended. - Air conditioner worked perfectly - Cool medieval front door Less good: - Washing machine was broken during our stay

Property was in a great location. We were looking to wash our cloths but the machine didn’t work. The air conditioner on both levels didn’t work. Had to get someone out to fix. Some basic tea, coffee and milk would have been appreciated. Spectacular view from the upper level.

Perfect Location

The location and views are superb! The flat is nicely appointed with comfortable sleeping. A leaking shower arm was replaced immediately. My only suggestion is to add a coffee maker in addition to the moki pot. We would definitely stay here again!

The property sits in an unbeatable location in Varenna. You are extremely close to the water, and can easily walk to restaurants, shops and the ferry. Everything was beautiful presented and clean. The office staff were very helpful and check in/out very easy. The only thing to think about when using this is there is no street parking around varenna. You will need to park in the council carpark which costs $20 euro flat rate a day. We loved our stay at the Casa.

All about the fabulous view

If you can just focus on the view from the top terrace, this house is amazing. But getting there with a car is impossible; you have to park a distance away and schlep your bags up and down steep inclines over cobblestones to get there. You have to climb up and down steep stairs to get to the bedroom and bathroom, and another set of steps to get to the terrace. The bottom floor where the kitchen and dining room are located feels dark and dank, not a place you want to hang out. There were no paper towels or napkins provided, even after we requested them. The microwave and toaster plugs are too large to fit in the sockets and there is no adapter that we can find to allow them to do so (we happened to have one of our own, fortunately). The light by the mirror in the bathroom didn't work and, when looked at, turned out to need rewiring, which didn't occur during our three-night stay. There was no functioning heat in late September, even though the temperature was low outside and it felt cold and damp inside; undoubtedly this factor shaped our whole experience in a negative way. All in all, it is not a very comfortable property--at least in the season we were there--and in our opinion not worth the four-star price they are charging. Redeeming factors are the view (which is fabulous but can be had from other locations), the comfortable bed, and the very friendly man at the agency who did what he could to assist us. Great apartment in Varenna

We absolutely loved this apartment in Varenna. The location was perfect and walking distance to the train. The views from the 3rd floor was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. Would love to come back one day!

Amazing place to stay in a beautiful spot

First, I have to say that we stayed here for a week during the hottest time in northern Italy in decades. It was HOT and humid. Thank God for air conditioning and this place had it. It was wonderful! My nephew stayed with his family in a different spot 100 meters away and without air conditioning; poor soul. But enough of that… One of the most pleasant parts of the stay was the wonderful staff at VerennaHolidays who watched over us. We lost our key part way through our week and before we could reach out to them the next morning they already knew. (It is a small town and apparently everyone knows your business, which was quaintly reassuring). They were fabulous, helpful, friendly/warm, genuine. In short, they added a great deal to our experience. The place itself is a 3 story right off one of those beautiful alleyways. The bottom portion has a dining area and a separate kitchen area. It is well equipped and all we needed. The next story is the bathroom and bedroom. Big bathroom, bath/shower that was great, and plenty of room. The bedroom has a large great bed, lots of storage for clothes, an A/C in the room (did I say it was magnificent?). It also has a balcony where we dried some of our clothes on a hanging dryer they supplied. The top floor was great as well. It also had a beautiful balcony where it would easily sit 2-3 people. The picture on the ads for this apartment are taken from there. Sometimes you wonder how authentic these are but I can tell you that the view is all you see there and more. It is not able to give you the whole panorama of the lake you can see. It was wonderful to sit out there in the morning or evening with a cappachino and a book (or a glass of wine and a friend). I would definitely try to get this place again if/when I go back!! You should too.

Has the location and views

It’s hard to go out to the restaurants when you have a view like this place has. On a charming section of the village for pedestrians only and just a flight of stairs from two gelatarias. The restaurant outside the front door even said they would serve us at our table in the apt. lol. It’s that close. We were two women with two kids and felt perfectly safe at all hours. We could get to the ferry and train easily. Also, two convenient shops for groceries, the bakery and tobacco shop for random things like tape are all a few minutes walk. Helpful tip, for a larger grocery store, floaties, big beach and super cool playground, visit Bellano, it’s a few min train ride north for a couple euros.

Incredible Lakefront Views

This property is on a lovely street with stunning views. There are many steep stairs to maneuver 3 different levels. But putting in the effort to the top living room affords the view. It was walkable from the train station and a great location for restaurants, gelato, small grocery, bakery, sites. Varenna exceeded my expectations- what a gorgeous city.

Paradiso Italiano!!

My wife and I stayed in the La Casa Nuvola for seven days and what a perfection location it was. We were just steps away from all the fine dining Varenna has to offer and it was a lovely stroll away from the main square. The apartment has all the amenities you need if you were to choose to dine in. The views from the top floor overlooking the lake were just amazing and we took full advantage to see some spectacular sunsets. Every room was well appointed and very clean. The staff at Varenna Holidays were so wonderful ! Sara and Francesca were so friendly and made no hesitation to make sure our stay was great! We will return and hopefully very soon. Ciao!!

Schöne Wohnung mitten in Varenna

Wir kamen kurzfristig in einer anderen Wohnung unter wegen eines Wasserschadens im ursprünglich gebuchten Objekt. Haben aber von der Agentur eine schöne gleichwertige Wohnung bekommen. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert und zuvorkommend. Die Wohung war schön im Herzen Varennas mit einem schönen Seeblick-Balkon, einer gut ausgestatteten Küche und einem bequemen Bett.
