"Rooms are lovely within spacious peaceful grounds and was given an upgrade as hotel wasn't full. Check in is at the restaurant, which staff should remember is doing double duty as hotel check in. Breakfast was mediocre and burnt toast was served - shouldn't even have left the kitchen. Subsequently skipped the included breakfast for Elvira's which was much better. "This is a wonderful, grand, historic building and retains the ambience of Victorian grandeur, even though there are a few scuffs and scrapes and rusted ironwork!. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and efficient and this was the case with all staff that we encountered including the breakfast staff. The room was beautifully decorated and fitted and was very comfortable with all amenities that you could want. Lots of sockets by the bed as well. Our room benefitted from a superb sea view....
