"The mansion and grounds have lots of charm and character. The staff is nice as can be and very helpful. Our room (a junior suite) was quite spare and was on the second floor. The stairway is narrow and fairly steep with a low hand rail (that is all original and charming) but visitors who may have difficulty climbing stairs should ask if their room will be upstairs or downstairs. "The first debacle was the parking. We were told there were no places at the hotel. One person told us they had deals with other hotels for parking and another person told us we needed to park in a public lot. The public lot we were sent to 3 blocks away charged $100 a night for a non-preferred spot. We decided to park for an hour so we could check-in and solve the parking problem later. "Property has old industrial feel and awesome showers. Being in a room with no window was a shock and felt like we were closed in/had to google the weather given we couldn’t see outside. "This is a great spot if you like walkable in the French Quarter. As many places in the Quarter - it is very historic and unique - so don't expect a Holiday Inn - We will definitely be back"
