"A lovely old hotel in a convenient position. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room and en-suite were very clean. A good selection of tea etc. Very nice having single rooms. I will definitely stay there again."

"They put me into the top of the building up 4 flights of stairs in a room with no radiator BUT a fan from Argos approx 10 in tall was the only form of Heat =ABSOLUTE PATHETIC !"

"We had travelled about 190 miles for a wedding, arriving about 12:30 and looking for suitable facilities to change in, only to be offered the use of the disabled toilet. Far from ideal, but we managed. The room like the hotel looked dated, with only 1 packet of biscuits for the 2 of us, only bathroom amenities was a small round of hand soap, a pump dispenser of soap and shampoo over the bath, and the shower wasn't up to much either. The location and views were really nice. "

"Stains on seats, old and tired, had to wait 20 mins for the room to be finished but unlike the other couple also waiting we were not offered complementary breakfast forbthe delay, for the price we paid it was seriously underwhelming for £135 "

"Great Location, Very clean and well maintained. Staff was great. We enjoyed a complimentary wine and cheese buffet, which was very nice. The rooms are purposefully very small but extremely well thought out and well appointed. "

"I was pleasantly surprised when i arrived at this hotel. Iit overlooked the river Avon, and we could see a little waterfall from our window. The mill wheels was working just outside the dining room window. It would be lovely in the summer. The only downside was the choice for breakfast. However you get what you pay for and as a really cheap hotel it exceeded expectations and when next i go to Bath i will stay there. As a bonus it also has a toll road running into Bath which cost £1.20p cash...

"Overall great value for money. There were only a couple of small issues in the bathroom, but nothing major. The hotel was super clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, a very good stay."

"Generally shambolic… check-in not smooth, bed not made properly, but worst of all was breakfast. Not enough tables, coffee machines kept malfunctioning, no eggs apart from scrambled and the bacon was like cardboard. Unfortunately the breakfast seemed to be run by good hearted but overworked kids. Can’t blame them, management obviously poor. For £140+ per night this is frankly poor value."

"It's within 10 minute walking distance to centre of town. There is an ok but overpriced Indian restaurant, but setting for food. Big Sainsbury's nearby. Property is standard HI Express, clean, ok breakfast. Only real criticism is having stayed at HI Express a lot over the past 5 months in different places for work, would be good if they could vary the breakfast a bit."

"Only slight issue it was a bit chilly in the room though not too bad and we were only there a night so didn’t mention. Otherwise all good. Great central location opposite park (handy for dog walking). You made our dog very welcome. You have lovely staff who seemed genuinely interested in guests. You have a lovely bar and restaurant/room service. Parking next door easy to access. "

"The building could do with a refurb. However our room although tired was clean. There was no lift to use but the staff were more than happy to carry our bags upstairs. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was good. "
