"Another restful stay at this lovely hotel. It’s always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The bar /restaurant is excellent. We normally stay weekdays and it’s pretty quiet but it’s a near perfect wedding/party venue so I would imagine it’s pretty busy and maybe not so restful at the weekends. It’s situated near but not in the Peak District in lovely surroundings. Hopefully we’ll be back again sometime."

"Spent two nights as a couple with a small dog. Totally relaxing break on the banks of the River Trent. Stayed in one of the adjacent cottages (no 14). Excellent. Only niggles were that although the bathroom had been recently refurbished, the extractor fan was not working and there was nowhere to hang a towel. Bathroom had the best shower I have ever used. Talk about a whoosh! We ate both nights in the restaurant. It had a limited menu, but the food was good. Food and drinks reasonably priced....

"Stayed here overnight while visiting family and would definitely stay again. The staff were great especially Tara in reception. The continental breakfast is good with plenty of options which we were quite happy with especially as it’s included in the price. The outdoor seating area by the restaurant is very nice and very peaceful. You could barely hear traffic despite being so close to a busy road. The driveway is quite potholed and in need of some TLC. Our room was clean and not bad overall...
