The staff were really helpful and friendly and catered for my uncles dog. They have a lot of appliances in the room allowing a comfortable stay. Here is also a nice park near bye if you find the grounds not big enough to wonder. Overall great trip away with amazing scenery.

The staff were the best part of the hotel. Clearly someone is good at hiring. Physically, almost everything was a bit crooked and broken (including the door safety lock in our room, Ashover Suite). The Hamburger was disappointing at £18.50, given that it was clearly a frozen burger and cheap supermarket quality. The room was cold, and we could not figure out how to turn on the radiator, so i slept with my clothes on. The room was nice and grand, and i had a lovely hot bath in the morning. All in all we had a great trip and would use the hotel again if attending something nearby.

A nice stay overall but everything is a bit dated Limited help from some staff, training could be better our welcome wasn't great. Went in the gym, water dispenser broken, TV remote didn't work, 1 treadmill broken 1 working, cross trainer broken otherwise ok The suite I booked wasn't a suite it was a cottage away from the hall and facilities didn't really feel part of it. facilities were ok and very spacious but I would have taken a normal room in the hall if I'd known I'd say 3* was enough for this hotel

A mixed bag review. The hotel is so dated, it’s like being on a set of fawlty towers. Every floorboard creaks, the room was so dated with a random corner bath in the bedroom, with a sign saying jet sprays don’t work but then a tiny toilet with sink, no shower. The dust on the plug sockets & fixtures in the room like the old fashioned 4 poster bed, kind of sealed it for me. This is no way a 4 star hotel. I should imagine the grounds make it a nice venue for a wedding but not for me. What redeemed it was the lovely secret spa. Absolutely perfect, 2 saunas, steam, jacuzzis, cold plunge. It made up for the dire hotel

The welcome on arrival was very friendly, helpful and efficient. My luggage was taken to and from my room, which is great. All the staff were very friendly. Meals were lovely, just too much for my appetite. Enjoyed walking and sitting in the grounds too.

The room was clean and bed comfy. BBC tv coverage bad. Bathroom needs upgrading. Room 115. Breakfast good but chaotic - there was not enough info on ordering various items and what order to move around the various item tables. Finding staff to take order not easy. Staff were v pleasant. Reception staff excellent Didn’t use any spa facilities so can’t comment. Overall impression that the whole building needs attention. Very good position for Chesterfield.

Great location, staff super friendly - stopped in room 125 and overnight the heat was unbearable. Yes we are in a hot spell but I think this was near the kitchen so the heat seemed worse, I also got woken up at about 6am again when I think the kitchen started serving by big extractor fans. I would stay again but not in that room - the building just needs some TLC but its comfortable.

I booked one 3days then I decided to come earlier so I booked one more day Every day l had to go to reception to activate my door card My room was far away from reception The last day I found a bag full of rubbish left near some cake my girlfriend did for me The cleaner left this bag by mistake after cleaning my room so I had to throw the cake away The reception staff were very good Parking was fantastic Salman

What be came apparent really quickly was that what I paid for was not what I got. We booked a superior room and got a 4ft 6 inch bed now dont get me wrong the room was nice but as we are not built for such a small bed hence why booking with a kingsize bed. May be I should have complained but when you have been at work all day all you want to do is rest. Will not visit again as sleeping in a tub chair was not fun!

Pretty hotel. We had a wonderful stay in room 121. The suite had a beautiful 4 poster and the bathroom a huge roll top bath. We visited the spa and had an excellent breakfast. Lovely stay. Will return.
