400m² Rustic Spanish Cortijo with Stunning Lake & Mountain view

This unique, luxurious, well equipped cortijo is in an area of outstanding natural beauty with simply stunning views over Lake Vinuela, the surrounding mountains and olive groves. Set in 5000m² of land it is the perfect location to relax. Perched on the top of the hillside, this cortijo provides 360° breath-taking panoramic views, stunning landscapes from every window. With over 300 days of sunshine per year it is beautiful in all seasons, particularly for those who enjoy walking in glorious countryside or simply sitting looking at the views. Breakfast in the walled internal courtyard to the fragrance of orange & lemon blossom. The Moor styled fountain provides the perfect backdrop to relax. Admire the sunsets in the reflection of the fountain framed by the rustic wooden doors. The luxury living areas provide space in which to relax and all bedrooms are comfortably furnished and all have A/C. For winter lets, enjoy the wood stove. The terrace overlooks the stunning unique luxury swimming pool and Lake Vinuela.

The cortijo is on a hillside surrounded by olive trees overlooking Lake Vinuela and the Sierra Tejada. The cortijo is 2.5km from the main road. Lake Vinuela is one of Andalusia’s best kept secrets but is unspoilt by tourism. The Lake is a reservoir and is also used for sailing, wind-surfing and fishing. There are no motorised boats allowed thus ensuring tranquillity. There are two excellent 18 hole golf courses nearby, Bavaria Golf (25 mins away) and Club Anorets (25 mins away). You may also enjoy skiing in the Sierra Nevada in the winter season which is only 1.45 hrs drive away. The season can be open from November to May depending on weather conditions.


The nearest beach resort is the typically Spanish resort of Torre de Mar just over 15 mins away. A wide promenade runs alongside its sandy beaches to the marina at Caleta. There are many small beaches along the coast line towards the busier resort of Nerja to enjoy. Nerja, with its famous caves, is 25 minutes away. Make a day of it and stop and have a paella or fresh fish lunch in the typical “chiringitos” or beach huts. Nearby is a fabulous shopping complex, El Ingenio with a hypermarket, Eroski, where you can buy all your necessities. Don’t forget to stop at their amazing fresh fish and sea-food counter! There are also numerous varied shops for all interests, a cinema, restaurants and tapas bars. Also nearby is a large water park and a go kart track. The busier resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola are less then 1 hour away. The local village of La Vinuela, 15 kms away, has a small supermarket and a choice of bars as does Puente Don Manuel, 10kms away, where you may buy supplies.

All around the property are paths leading to some glorious walks through unspoilt countryside. On the opposite side of the lake is the National Park and Mount Maroma which is widely used by walkers and ramblers and is renowned as being the best walking area in Spain. The white-washed mountain villages are well worth a visit to see the real Andalusía. Take time to look into the dates of the local “ferias” or festivals, in the surrounding villages. What better way to soak up the local culture. The villa is located within easy driving distance of Nerja and other towns like Malaga, Seville, and Granada, where you can take in the beauty and architecture of the Alhambra Palace.

Es ist ein traumhaftes Haus, welches wunderbar ausgestattet ist. Der Verwalter Ian hat uns herzlich begrüßt und hat uns bei Problemen (z.B. Pool wurde grün, Wasser wurde abgeschaltet) sofort geholfen. Ich kann das Ferienhaus nur empfehlen.

Perfect for our long overdue family gathering. Having been before, everything felt familiar and easy to just ‘slot back in to’. Would recommend to anyone who wants to experience the mountains, whitewashed villages and beautiful Mediterranean.

The Cortijo is the perfect place to enjoy a few days of peace and relax by the pool with the family and friends. The views cannot be better, and the small villages around and nearby restaurants are awesome. The owners keep the property clean and neat and are always available to solve problems or answer questions. They always got back to me within 5 min of a WhatsApp message or a phone call. They were very nice, friendly, and respectful to us. If I would have to mention something, I would suggest them to improve the Wi-Fi connectivity or get a better service company to work with. Again, not the owner’s fault and they were very helpful to fix the issues that we had with the internet.

Wir - 2 befreundete Familien - haben eine sehr schöne Zeit hier verbracht. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, der Pool ist groß genug und der Blick auf den See einfach toll. Zum Meer und den etwas größeren Supermärkten muss man ein bisschen fahren, aber das weiß man ja vorher. Gute Lage für Ausflüge nach Granada, Ronda, Nerja oder Málaga - alles sehr zu empfehlen. Von uns gibt’s 5 Sterne - Haus, Lage und Umgebung haben uns sehr gefallen.

This is a stunning property which has been beautifully and tastefully decorated. It’s situation on a hillside means that there is generally a gentle breeze which stops you from getting too hot, however a car is essential as the cortijo is quite a way from the main road. The cortijo has been well designed and is very well equipped. Any queries were answered quickly by the owner, Maurice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and, even though there was plenty to see in the area, were quite happy to stay relaxing by the pool. In fact, although we generally don’t want to return to a property or area, we would be very happy to revist the cortijo!

Had an amazing time with my family. The house is gorgeous with unforgettable views. We went in June and it was very hot and dry, great feature when drying clothes out in the sun. Air conditioning in the rooms work great. Communication with the administrators is quick and efficient. Very pleasant staff. Seamless check in and out. Grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place.

After postponing our stay twice due to covid (which the owner handled without any problem), we finally were able to visit the Cortijo. It didn't disappoint us. From whatever window, the view is wonderful. The view at the back terrace, overlooking the lake, makes you stop talking. The house itself is spacious, with the Moorish courtyard as a big charm bonus. The kitchen has everything you need and is also a cosy place to have dinner. We were very lucky with the weather, we used the pool everyday. The supermercado in Vinuela has a lot you might need, and a suprisingly broad variety of wines! We had a great stay!

Thank you for this amazing stay. Great quiet, clean and peaceful location, the pictures on the website can not even do this place justice. We arrived late at night in the dark, and Maurice guided us all the way to the house via facetime. We would not have found it without his help. So greatfull for this stay. Just thank you

La maison typique Andalouse est extrêmement agréable à vivre avec notamment un patio type "marocain" qui apporte sérénité le tout avec une superbe piscine. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine avec des propriétaires très agréables et très reactif !

We hebben genoten van de mooie villa. De communicatie met Maurice was prima, we kregen snel en correct antwoord. Speciaal waarderen we bij deze villa het mooie zwembad, de patio met fontein, de compleet uitgeruste keuken en het grote terras. Een auto is onmisbaar, op loopafstand zijn geen voorzieningen zoals restaurants of ,een supermarkt. Het is er rustig met rondom het huis zeer mooie vergezichten. Een mooie villa!

Nous avons passé 15 très bons jours dans cette maison. Celle-ci est très agréable, ainsi que son patio (pour être au frais le matin au petit-déjeuner) et sa piscine. Les abords de la piscine sont très bien aménagés. La maison elle-même est spacieuse et très bien équipée. On trouve à proximité, et sinon au marché de Velez de Malaga, de bons endroits pour trouver de bons produits. Quelques suggestions : améliorer le wifi. Une plancha à l'extérieur pourrait également être une idée. Mais ce ne sont que des détails et la maison reste parfaite. Merci

The villa was fabulous and exceeded expectations. Our family of 5 had a great time. The pool was excellent and got loads of use. The location was beautiful with the villa well positioned overlooking Lake Vinuela. We would strongly recommend the villa. Maurice the owner was always very helpful answering any questions promptly. The property is beautiful and all the good points are as listed. Owner was easy to deal with and left keys as instructed. Just a few things to note for potential renters: WiFi is very erratic No a/c in communal rooms (but good a/c in all bedrooms) - this means that any socialising later in the day needs to be done in pretty hot rooms (as nearby properties mean that sitting out later on is not an option) - worth considering if visiting in summer with a group who are expecting to be up together after dark. It is not walking distance to anywhere - car is a must (even the bin store is 2.5km away!) Upstairs bedroom has no shutters/curtains on the “en suite” (just a continuation of the main bedroom with no door) so it gets very bright after sunrise. Wasn’t great for a good nights sleep. Won’t impact early risers though! All in all a great villa though.

Une magnifique vue 360 sur les montagnes, un lac. Une superbe et grande maison avec un patio qui permet d’avoir de la fraicheur. Le coin piscine est parfait. Cuisine bien équipée. La maison est à 20 mn de la mer et permet d’aller visiter facilement Grenade ou Cordoue.

This is a wonderful place for a group or family to stay. The owner was helpful and the informations provided made the entire process straightforward. The house itself is fantastic, and in a great setting. You are close to some picturesque villages and towns as well as some nice beach resorts. Excellent place for hill/ trail runners to explore, especially the Sierra Blanca. Beware the gravel roads over some of the hill/ mountain passes (might influence excess cover for hire of a car!). There are usually ‘long ways around’ that are actually just as quick with better quality roads. The pool area is great with plenty of space to relax and swim. Private setting. Highly recommended for a stay!

Me and my family stayed for a week in April and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The place is in a great location for visiting Malaga and Granada but we spent most of our time by the pool making the most of the facilities and view. Highly recommended
