Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino is aesthetically pleasing and very modern-looking. The property itself is beautiful and well designed.
However, our experience started off poorly. We arrived around 4:30 PM on the first day and were told they did not have gas, so no freshly cooked food was available. The only options were Caesar salad, boiled leftover wings, and nachos with canned meat. Unfortunately, the food was unpleasant and not what you’d expect from a high-end all-inclusive resort.
Overall, the food and service were very mediocre. The buffet was especially disappointing and bland, lacking flavor, and honestly hard to eat. Some of the meat even had a slight smell, which made it very unappetizing. It felt like eating while sick. No real taste or enjoyment.
The à la carte restaurants that require reservations were noticeably better, and the food there actually tasted good. The downside is that it was extremely difficult to get reservations, which made it frustrating.
Service was another letdown. Many staff members came across as unwelcoming and often had an attitude. There was very little guidance or information provided about activities or amenities. We had to figure most things out on our own.
In summary, while the resort looks great and has potential, the food quality, service, and overall guest experience fell short of expectations
