"Paradise on a hilltop! Comfortable, lovely cottage with great outdoor space for relaxing and dining, set in an absolutely beautiful location. Forest, meadow and mountain views. Wonderful host(s) who made us feel very welcome and helped us to make the most of our stay there, with fresh eggs from their chickens and firewood for the wood burning stove. Peaceful location at the end of the road makes it a great respite from the city. I would give more than 5 stars if I could! "

"We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The unit was clean and comfortable. As others may have mentioned, there is some noise from the nearby train track and bars, but that didn’t bother us much. We really appreciated the noise cancelling machine that was provided. If you're looking for a quiet and private place for a long weekend, this is a great option. The town of Shokan is super tiny and has very few dining and/or grocery options, so you'd have to head to Woodstock, Kingston or Phoenicia for legit breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinking options, but all are just a 15-25 minute drive away.
