The hotel did not honor Expedia prices and forced me to pay practically an extra night. The manager kept saying the difference was in taxes, which may vary, but that was not true. The difference in taxes represented a very small portion of the extra amount they charged me. The manager kept saying that’s what happens when you book rooms through 3rd party and that I should book directly next time. I had to accept it as they had already charged my card. I will formally report this to expedia and will share this negative review in other forums. Very disappointing…
There were issues with the hotel as well, which would had been easily forgotten wasn’t for this terrible experience at check out: This is a historic hotel, but they also have rooms outside of the main building, nothing historic about them, and that’s where they put me first. Linoleum floors, noisy neighbors above us and a heater with a broken thermostat that forced me to wake up several times at night to turn it on and off. They accommodated my request to move to the main building, but make sure to ask for that when you book your reservation. Early in the morning almost every day there was someone blowing leaves by my window. Not a great way to wake up but I’m early riser, so no big deal.
