"This stay exceeded our expectations. The staff was very helpful, the dinner and breakfast buffets were unbelievable. So much selection and everything tasted very high quality. The room was huge and the private onsen was incredibly relaxing. The highlight of our trip to Japan and we cannot wait to stay here again in our next visit."

"An amazing house with great volume, vaulted ceilings, 4 bedrooms and a private onsen bath.
The house was beautiful, perfectly located near all the exciting restaurants and sights around Hakone. A perfect place to spend a few days and I wish we had more time to truly enjoy it fully.
Lots of windows, a beautiful garden, gorgeous interior with wood paneling everywhere and some rooms with traditional tatami mats.
Highly recommend !"

"This place has a lot of character and was a great experience. We didn’t book the Irori dinner, which I regretted very much. It’s a hostel, not a hotel, so as expected it was a bit spartan. However, the main sitting area was lovely and interesting and the staff were top notch - warm and accommodating. If you are looking for character and tradition over modern comforts, you will enjoy your stay very much. It’s also just a short walk to Gora station where you can hop on the cable car and ropeway as...

"Nice setting (and surrounding area within Hakone) and we enjoyed the serenity of this property.
This property is a bit aged, so air conditioning is absent in room. Weather was good during our stay (not super humid hot) so we had no issue. Having said that, I would imagine we would definite appreciate the traditional style of heating when visiting during winter with its snowy view over the golf course."
