"This was a unique property. It was clean and well maintained. There is no staff onsite but it was easy to get in and safe. "

"From the outside it looks like an old timey 1950’s hotel. However, the rooms and bathrooms have been totally redone inside and they’re beautiful. Would stay again. A hidden gem. A Few good restaurants not far down the street, too. "

"I love its closeness to our happy place…the New River! The fact that it is owned by the Virginia State Parks is an add plus. Dinner and breakfast at the Inn was fantastic!"

"The new owners have done a wonderful job with renovations! I stayed at Fox Mountain Inn years ago and noticed the improved cleanliness of the rooms, new paint, an outdoor pet area, and the fire pit. The owners both greeted us, made sure we could access the room, provided coffee and rolls in the morning. In addition, there was frequent communication about our stay."

"This is place is a gem! Quiet, off of the beaten trail, & right on the water. Nothing fancy, but then are you on vacation just to stay in a hotel room - No! The bed was comfortable (pillow top mattress) and the people are wonderful! We stopped here on our way to the Outer Banks & extended our stay by 1 night because of hurricane damage to our ultimate destination."

"This property is stunningly beautiful. A wedding venue with lovely lodging. Super comfortable bed in a nice room. Nothing negative to say. We were the only couple in the building until about bedtime and someone else came in. We heard them arrive to the room next door, and no noise after that. The town of Staunton is also a sweet, contemporary mountain town. Do stay here if you get the chance. "

"Lovely respite. Comfortable cottage with three beds (two bedrooms) and one bathroom, plus view of a picturesque pastoral scene: a field of green grass, white fence, a friendly dog who politely asks to play ball if you like (and leaves you alone if you don’t), and the occasional mooing of the cows in the distance. There’s WiFi in the house if you need it (no WiFi in cottages) but it’s the kind of place where it’s a good idea to unplug. I enjoyed making a cup of coffee first thing in the...
