"Atmospheric quirky hotel. Retains convent feel. Nice staff; good restaurant at night. Note it doesn’t do breakfast but good cafe nearby. No reception before noon. Good base for Bilbao - on commuter line to central station , one hour trip with regular trains ."

"No pudimos descansar en toda la noche ya que habia una alarma que no paraba de sonar...pensabamos que era de la calle, pero no, parece ser que procedia de alguna parte del hotel. Al dejar la habitacion ni siquiera pudimos comentarlo con nadie del hotel para que supieran ya que no habia nadie a quien poder comentarselo."

"Ich hatte einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Axel Hotel Bilbao. Die Lage ist hervorragend – mitten in der Stadt und ideal, um Bilbao zu erkunden. Die Zimmer waren sauber und sehr gepflegt. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den herzlichen Empfang an der Rezeption – ein großes Dankeschön an Sandra für das tolle Willkommen! Man fühlt sich direkt gut aufgehoben. Auch das Frühstück war super und sehr empfehlenswert. Ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: Im Badezimmer habe ich Ablagen für Make-up oder...

"La chambre était propre j'ai aimé, sauf que à mon arrivée j'ai un peu galeré,j'ai pas trouvé la réception de l’hôtel,il y'a un numéro de téléphone qu’il faut appeler et du coup la dame au téléphone elle parle seulement espagnol et en tant que touriste et étranger c'est un peu chaud pour se comprendre sur ce qu'elle dit, mais pour le reste j'étais vraiment satisfait. "Not as convenient as some other hotels in Bilbao but not terribly out of the way (beware the uphill walk from town!). Breakfast is special - very large selection and many healthy choices, especially for gluten-free. The room was fine, parking was a little tough to get in and out in our suv - but onsite and simple. "The hotel is nice but very simple. The staff isn’t welcoming and cheery just very business with minimal conversation. We felt as if we were a bother. The lobby is very basic with no real sitting area and the entrance to the hotel is on the backside not the street level which is inconvenient when arriving and unloading. It’s not clearly noted and is a bit confusing. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Pillows were very hard unfortunately. There is a small, complimentary coffee...

"The room was very nice. However the doors are not soft close so it was very loud at times & echoing. It would have been nice to have coffee & tea available in the room The staff were neutral - not very friendly "

"The hotel is stylish and clean. It is very close to metro station and several minutes away from bus stops. Easy to travel from the airport and to all destinations. Like the view of the park too."
