Our beautiful 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment is for rent in the best part of Costa del Sol. Cala de Mijas is conveniently located between Malaga and Marbella, approximately 20 mins drive from both cities. A former fishing village now a lovely town with many restaurants, bars and shops which cater for everybody. One of the best and least crowded beaches of Costa del Sol and which is is very clear. Good cafes are along the beachfront and great Spanish food is easy to come by. The whole town has a nice atmosphere and family vibe! Market is on Saturday and Wednesday. If it’s night life you are looking for, you have Olivias, which serves great food, live singers and great cocktails!

Our home is up on the hill, which gives wonderful views over the coastline and mountains as far as Sierra Nevada. In front of us is one of best golf club in Costa del Sol, Calanova Golf with stunning views, a very well maintained course and one of the best pro-shops in South of Spain. We also recommend their restaurant which gives splendid view over the sea and serves great food. All of this just within a 5 mins drive!
Our apartment is on the first floor and you can access it from our private parking by lift, which makes shopping an easy experience. The village has several supermarkets like Aldi, Carrefour, Mercadona, Supersol, etc. Many restaurants, bars, ice cream shops etc but if you need the amenities of a big city, Malaga or Marbella is just a 20 mins drive away.

The apartment:
The fully furnished apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms of which one is en-suite. The bedrooms have high quality bedlinen, pillows, quilts and blankets. We provide sufficient towels for all of our guests including 4 beach towels. The Master Bedroom has a smart TV with international TV stations.
In our fully equipped kitchen you can find Nespresso machine, dishwasher, water heater, toaster, blender and enough pots and pans to cook whatever you wish. We also provide all the necessary crockery, plates and of course glasses to enjoy the nice wines, sangrias and cava’s which Spain has to offer.

The living room has been furnished with contemporary furniture, including a 5-seater leather sofa, a rustic solid wood dining table, designer lamps, etc. The 49” smart TV includes an extra package for our guests, giving access to UK, German, Dutch, Belgian, Sport channels, additional to the already extensive international selection of cable TV channels. For the music and radio fans we have a Sonos sound system.

In Spain the outside living is more important than the inside one, and this is where our apartment really excels. As our apartment is a corner unit, we have more than 100 sqm terrace with several seating arrangements, loungers and a dining table for 6. What is better than a candle-lit al fresco dining while looking at the ever-changing sea?

The apartment has its own private parking under the building, close to the lift which means that bringing home the shopping is effortless.

The gated community has 3 swimming pools, a well-equipped gym (Techno Gym), sauna, jacuzzi and a chill out area, all accessible for our guests.

Golf:
Costa del Sol is a well-known paradise for golfers as you can play all year around. More than half of the TOP100 Spanish golf courses are located in South of Spain and the very best of them are good enough to be ranked in the Top 100 in Europe.
Our apartment is overlooking the very well maintained, par 72 golf course Calanova Golf Club. It offers extraordinary views of the Mijas sierra and the sea. Nearly all the tees are elevated, which enables players to visualise shots perfectly. The club also has a very good restaurant and a pro-shop for golfers.
La Cala Golf & Spa is about 10 minute drive and very highly ranked as a golf course in Europe. It is the largest golf complex (almost 6 km!) in Spain with 3 golf courses of 18 holes and a golf academy. The golf complex has been the venue for many international competitions.
There are in fact 32 golf courses and clubs around Cala de Mijas, all within 25 km from our apartment.

Scuba diving & other sea related activities:
One of the best scuba-diving sites are also just a short drive away in Marbella, around the “Tower”. “La Torre” used to serve as cargo loading tower in the 1950s and 60s. Now it serves as artificial reef and home to many marine species. There are also three small wrecks in this area. Two of them are wrecks of cargo ships and one is a wreck of a sail boat. There is also a large, almost 1 km long reef close by. The site is usually busy, not only because it is so popular among divers but many marine species reside here. The reef has walls, canyons and valleys. However, this site is exposed to strong currents, the maximum depth is 40 m.

There are countless other activities you can do on the beaches of Costa del Sol including but not limited to: sailing, wake-boarding, paddling, canoeing, parasailing, jet-skiing, wind-surfing, kite-surfing etc.

3. Costa Water Park, Fuengirola
4. Dolphin spotting, Fuengirola
5. Castillo de Colomares (fairy-tale looking castle)

8. Pindongos treetop adventure park, Villanueva del Trabuco.


Day trips:
It is easy to organize a day trip to the following destinations, to name just a few:
1. Ronda. Take a train ride from San Roque to Ronda and visit beautiful Ronda.
2. Tangiers, Morocco
3. Gibraltar (better to park the car in the Spanish side and just walk into Gibraltar to avoid traffic) - don t forget to take your passport !
4. Alhambra (need to buy ticket in advance!) and Granada.
5. Nerja Caves, Nerja (really beautiful caves, must see!)

Stunning Views, incredibly beautiful Apartment

We enjoyed our stay at this great apartment. The accommodation is superb, very well maintained and tastefully decorated. We loved the huge terrace, views & Gym. Super Property

This is an ideal property for adults. The apartment has a superb terrace to enjoy the sun and the views. The property was very clean with new bedlinen. The facilities in the complex are good with two pools a large pool and a smaller one either side of the block. You definitely need a car to stay here. Good internet access and satellite tv.

The most amazing apartment with incredible views, that contained everything to meet our needs. The location, unfortunately was isolated from the front, where you definitely needed a car to visit. As this was a social break, we had to get taxi's to all venues to socialize/shop.

Beautiful Le Cala Apartment

We enjoyed a relaxing two week holiday in this beautiful, well maintained excellent appointed apartment. It really had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Communication with the owners prior to our arrival was prompt & reassuring (lots of info in light of COVID-19) & Paul who manages the apartment was equally helpful, informative & courteous. We will most definitely look to stay here again.

Heerlijk appartement met prachtig uitzicht

Met twee stellen 12 dagen hier verbleven. Het appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien. De check in verliep prima ondanks dat de dame geen Engels sprak (en wij geen Spaans). Helaas waren de sauna en sportzaal gesloten vanwege corona. Het zwembad was gelukkig wel open al waren er geen bedjes vanwege de hygiëne. Het terras om het appartement is erg groot en heeft zowel schaduw als zon plekjes. Heerlijk om ‘s avonds te barbecueën met het uitzicht op de zee en bergen. Hey contact met de eigenaar verliep ook uitstekend. Absolute aanrader!

The property management was wonderful.

We stayed for two months and loved the condo. The view was fantastic and looking over the Calanova golf course. Beautiful spacious apartment with stunning views

Beautiful apartment, furnished to a high standard with huge terrace and wide ranging views. The photographs do not really do it justice . The owners and property manager Paul were really helpful - I cannot recommend this property more highly.

Beautiful Views

The property is absolutely beautiful - well decorated, good location, amazing views! The flat is very private as it is an end unit with very large wrap-around balconies. The community pool and gym have stunning views and are top notch. As a bonus, the wifi speed was very fast and dependable when we had to work. One thing to note is that it was very windy while we were there in November and the howling through the master bedroom sliding glass doors was very loud. I'm not sure that anything can be done about that, but for light sleepers this may be an issue. The property had a Nespresso maker but not much else to cook with besides salt - travelers may want to note this and plan accordingly. Overall, a pleasant stay and a very nice host. Will be back!
