Owner cancelled an hour before check-in
Flew my kids across the pond to London for holiday. After waiting many hours in summer heat for check-in time, I went to contact the owner to meet up and found a message in VRBO app cancelling our reservation. No phone call, just a message saying a problem with the washroom. We were stranded, and I spent the rest of that day and much of the following trying to find a place for me and my two children when lodging was incredibly hard to come by during Wimbledon and Henley. Not sure why it wasn’t known much earlier in the day and would expect a call at the very minimum. And if it were truly a plumbing issue (which I question), how about offering to give us a place to rest while waiting for repair. The owner put me and my children in an incredibly difficult position. Inexcusable. VRBO was nice enough on the phone but really not helpful as I desperately searched on a park bench with low phone battery for a place for us to sleep for the next 8 nights.
