"Spacious double room (the most basic of rooms available), nicely presented, and plenty of storage space. Nice bathroom with walk in shower. Buffet breakfast one of the best I've experienced, plenty of choice including some cooked items. Great rooftop pool/bar and space to sit and enjoy the sun. Lots of different areas available to either sit and drink/eat, or merely just lie back and relax. Would not hesitate to stay here again."

"I have been staying at Hotel 1898 for over 15 years and even chose it for my honeymoon, so it genuinely saddens me to write this review. It has always been my first choice whenever I visit Barcelona. "Really nice area! The restaurant downstairs next to it called Fismuler.. Oh my goodness!!! Can say it was in my top 3 places to eat in Barcelona!! Hotel staff were nice and helpful. We got in earlier than our check in time but they held our luggage in a locker for us so we can explore city while we wait for our room. They cleaned our room every day. The lounge area and pool was nice to hangout after a day out in the city. Really recommend it for couples!"

"The room size was good but we did not have any day light coming in at all as the room was located around the interior court. So it was very dark at all times, which was not great. Overall, we found the staff not friendly or helpful at all."
