"Unusual communication from the start. Booked through expedia, host was listed as Mei but actually a third party company made contact AFTER the free cancellation period asking for a large deposit. This was highly Unusual but I did my due diligence and they were a real company. On checkout it was confirmed I'd receive my deposit but it has taken well over a month to finally receive the funds. I received 6 emails during our stay with reminders of house rules, checkout procedures and even asking for...

"Perfect location, right next to the motorway for easy access to any part of the city. Heat pump in the room made temp control easy. Restaurant onsite had a great menu but we didn’t have time to try the food. Parking directly outside our room was convenient and you need a key card to get in the gate so very secure. Although there was no way to lock the sliding door from the outside, so you had to leave out the hall entry and walk around when leaving the motel. Bed wasn’t the comfiest and bathroom...

"Room well appointed and nicely laid out. Everything beautiful and clean. We went to the restaurant as well, which was closing early due to the weather warnings. But they still offered to make us food, and let us know what we could have within the timeframe. Would have loved to have had more time in restaurant/bar, as it looked so inviting. Would definitely stay if out this way again."

"We stayed here overnight before flying out the next morning. Sure, it's an older hotel but it's well-maintained, has large rooms, the beds were comfortable, casting onto the TV screen was easy, there was a restaurant onsite (not that we used it), lots of vending machines, free parking, the staff were helpful, near the airport and best of all, there was a shop freezer with ice cream products such as Magnums, Trumpets and so on. Would absolutely recommend this hotel."

"Didn’t get a wake up call like I was told I would. Restaurant staff was rude. Had only two options available out of the full menu. Claimed the kitchen was closing even though it was an hour before the stated closing time. Place itself was decent and fairly clean but had no cups, tv was old - hardly functional and no kitchen sink. Interesting smell too. Aircon made a loud sound all night."

"Overall, I had a good stay at Imagine Beach Hotel in Auckland. The location was super convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the main metro station, and it was also an easy pickup point for tour buses, which made getting around very stress-free. Safety and convenience are my biggest priorities when traveling, and this hotel definitely delivered on both. I felt very safe throughout my stay. For cleanliness, I’d give it around 4 stars.
