"Modern hotel, well presented with easy access to its own eateries and the many offerings close by. Only downsides were a restricted number of car parks which meant our car was out on the street all night; and the lighting in the room is very subtle with a lack of bright lighting if you are doing make up as an example.
Second time we have stayed and we will go back but will need to get there early to get a car parks"

"My room overlooked Shields Street. Great views to the Lagoon but very noisy at night.
Will definitely stay again & will request a room Esplanade side.
Position of hotel is excellent 5 minutes walk to everything.
New bathroom was much appreciated."

"The plumbing needs replacing/updating. Water had no pressure, taps were hard to turned off to prevent dripping and drainage was really slow so we couldn’t have an enjoyable shower…Otherwise it’s a great place to stay especially the location."

"We like the area. I have stayed here before. Large rooms, comfy beds. However, the front staff was not very helpful when we were trying to arrange additional stay and absolutely refused a late check out (even though the hotel had empty rooms)."

"Will stay again! The staff was so lovely and thoughtful, we stayed here to get married and they truly appreciated how special that was. The room was huge, the hot water didn’t run out like many other wedding guest accommodations did. "Good location, close to Cairns city centre and public transport.
Poor kitchen implements, had to buy my own pots in order to prepare my meals.
Upon checking out I dropped my room key in the keybox as Hotel staff had not yet arrived. To my horror I could not open the exitdoor without my key. I was now stuck in the hotel foyer.
No way of exiting this space could lead to a dangerous situation in case of fire for example."

"The hotel is low-rise and close to the road. Our room faced the road and was over the loading area, making for lots of noise in the early morning (bins being emptied and trucks making deliveries). The room was fitted out as pictured and clean. A strip on the bottom of the door would stop the light coming in from the corridor (we used a towel to block the light). The selection of tv channels was eclectic."

"The good: location, washer and dryer available but bring your own coins, it’s pretty and clean.
The bad: no A/C and even though this is Australias winter, it is bloody hot and we had to keep the windows wide open while sleeping otherwise it would have been unbearable."
