"We stayed at the Hampton on our trip to San Diego based on the reviews and we are very happy we chose to stay there.
Every staff member we encountered were very friendly and courteous, everyone we encountered said hello and asked if we needed anything.
The hotel was clean and smelled like fresh laundry. The continental breakfast was very good, their biscuits and sausage gravy was delicious and the orange juice taste like fresh squeezed and not sour frozen concentrate.

"Front desk girl had attitude and I got her at checkout as well. I called for a late check out and I got her again I belt. She told me to come down to the front desk in am and check. I've never had to do that at any hotel. Anyhow called on the am and spoke to a much nicer gentleman and was able to get my late checkout over the phone. Restaurants were ok. They need a fancier option. Rooms and facilities are beautiful. View and location spectacular! Close to Balboa Park and the Zoo."

"Good stay for the price. Good location and proximity to the surrounding beaches. The only thing for us is that there were only latches on the window to close also with a broken screen, no rod to keep it closed, and we were on the ground floor so it felt slightly unsafe to open when our room became stuffy at night. There was an AC unit that helped though. We also had a garbage can right outside our window where my husband had to move it away the second night because people were using it all night...
