"Guesthouse was very much as shown: community spaces for bathrooms and cooking etc. and the location was great, very close to Akaka Falls yet outside of town enough to enjoy slowing down. Found great shaved ice at the Aloha General Store. We stayed in the king bed room, which was clean and mostly comfortable, but gets baked in the sun from sunrise. The room was very hot and could use a ceiling fan, the small one provided barely worked to cool the large room… and having the windows open meant...

"We were looking for a place to stay for one night in the Hilo area, when I came across Hilo Bay Oceanfront B&B. We chose a room that was truly oceanfront, with panoramic views of Hilo Bay and amazing ocean breezes. The service was great, and there were lots of extras available at all times, like snacks, coffee & tea, and bottled water. The made-to-order breakfast at 6:30 am was icing on the cake. We will definitely return!"

"We love staying at the Dolphin Bay Hotel. It is conveniently located near many places we visit, the staff is wonderful, and the rooms are simple but roomy. We also enjoy how peaceful the neighborhood is and a big bonus is getting fresh coffee, banana bread and fruit every morning. Parking is easy, the WiFi is 5G so accessing devices is super quick. "

"Really good location and very clean room. Only complaint is the windows are not well sealed so you can hear the traffic on the street. Also you can hear sounds from next door very clearly... The owner did provide earplugs but I feel it doesn't necessarily work for everybody."

"We absolutely loved the location and the beautiful common areas at Hilltop Legacy — peaceful surroundings and stunning views! "What a cute cottage in the heart of hilo bay. Super clean, well taken care of and private. I never heard my neighbors talking or tv on. Only draw back was the check in process. I booked this stay last min coming from kona and it took me about 30 min to figure out that there was no front desk. You get a text or email with instructions on how to enter the unit. Housekeeping never came to my room to replace my towels even when i texted them that i needed towels. So i just grabbed towels myself...

"They’ve done a great job updating/ renovating and making this a really cool space. Some street noise and courtyard noise because of old-school Hawaiian louvered windows- but it gives it that nice, local feel. Overall great vibe and was great for our short staycation. We’ll go back."
