"We loved this beautiful historic home, its convenient location, and the friendly staff. Our room has a partial ocean view and was beautifully laid out and decorated. The dining room was super dramatic looking right over the cliff. The only drawback is that the cliff is eroding and the home's foundations are within inches of the edge. The rules were very strict in having no outter footwear inside the house. The property was nice with a stray cat, named White Knight, being around the property to be there during your stay. "The ocean was visible from both our rooms. We did not cook, just made tea; but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped and we saw other guests cooking. The bathroom was clean and had several showers, so we never had to wait The hostel is very conveniently located in downtown Hilo."
