"We appreciated how modern the facilities were. The room was quite small but it was adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was roomy. A Dyson hairdryer made an excellent impression. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine in the room and the filtered water that was available in the corridor outside our room. The hotel is very conveniently located for transport options (including to and from the airport) and walking distance to Darling Harbour and the new Sydney Fish Market...

"The Darling Hotel itself is good. However there are limited restaurant options. Most seem to be cafe style, with many closed. The Star has seen better days."

Appreciated the focus on sustainability (reusable water bottles in the room, filtered water station on each floor, reusable cloth shopping bag in each unit). Location was excellent, within easy walking distance of many attractions, restaurants and shopping areas including Darling Harbour and Barangaroo. Really enjoyed our stay very much!"

"Overall our stay was great. Found someone’s pool and some pubic hair under the vanity on the floor and there were some stains/marks on the tile wall of the shower but otherwise the room was clean. I ordered uber eats and wrongly assumed that the concierge might have enquired as to who the order was for and for them to call my room. I didn’t expect the staff to bring it up to me but a phone call to let me know my order had arrived would have been appreciated. Otherwise the staff were lovely and...

"It was my first visit to The Porter House and I was generally happy with my stay. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator, which they were able to accommodate. It was a lovely touch to see my name displayed on the TV when we entered the room, and a bottle of wine and a hand-written card. It's the little things that made the stay enjoyable. "Definitely did not feel like a 5 star hotel as listed… don’t even include still bottled water etc. Front desk staff not very friendly. Room was clean but definitely feel like they skimped on some of the amenities. Room was listed to have record player and didn’t, only received after calling and asking. Rooftop bar was closed for a private event so I didn’t even get to check that out. Vip drink ticket was only given to me after I asked. "

Room size was way too small for a queen room and the wash basin was a part of the room with the toilet and bathroom taking the rest of the space in an already tight small room space."
