"The location is very convenient and we loved the canal and restaurants just round the corner. We were at the front of the hotel and it’s a bit noisy when the trams are running - but we did know that might be the case. All the staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous, efficient and extremely helpful."

"Velvet Lodge was a great stay. It is at a walkable distance from the central station which is convenient if you are traveling with family and have a lot of luggage like we did. The property was neat and clean, and staff are supportive. Only caveat was walking up and down the stairs for 3 floors with the bags."

"Very nice spacious room, 21 foot steps from the door to the window at the other end. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Its a very good location and if you like walking, the beach is a pleasant 1hr walk."
