"The room itself was very nice, and the host was friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, it felt as though the property was closed, which was a little strange. Unfortunately, there was no hot water both in the evening and the following morning, which we reported to the host on departure. Had we been staying longer, I’m confident the host would have tried to resolve this. The bed was uncomfortable and the mattress would benefit from an upgrade or the addition of a topper. "Beautiful hotel. Excellent stay and wonderful grounds and peaceful. Lovely breakfast and enjoyable but only feedback would be that a few more options on the continental breakfast would have been nice. And coffee machine made warm coffee not hot. Overall I would definitely stay again, staff were so nice and our room was just amazing. Loved this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back to stay again. "

"This used to be my school until 1982 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful hotel with great amenities in amazing grounds. Ample parking and a safe environment leads to a peaceful and relaxing stay. "

"I chose to stay here as I had a flight the following morning at Heathrow. It was the ideal location, with parking and right next to the Thames, walking distance from the Magna Carta. "Check in staff very helpful. Bathroom not as clean as it should be for a property like this, shower head covered in brown gunk, dirt under rim of toilet and glasses covered in dust. The shower nearly flooded as soon as I turned it on. The kettle was bashed and going rusty. Overall fine for a night but if staying more than one day there is no where to hang towels to dry. The breakfast was sufficient but confusing as there was no one to explain or check me off a list!! "

"Just home from the most amazing five days here. The hotel is spotless and the staff all smiles,. My grandkids loved the warm swimming pool, the outdoor gym and the playground. The grounds are wonderful kept, full of mature trees, a war memorial and a pretty fountain. And that's before you get to the front of the hotel. The breakfasts blew us way, and our one evening meal was delicious. "

"All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size but looked very worn-out. Only one bath towel when we got there, but to be fair they gave us another one and apologised about it. The breakfast was OK but nothing special. The room was cheap enough though so quite good value for money and we would probably stay again "

"Lovely room with comfortable bed. Very friendly and professional staff. Could do with hot plates for hot breakfast and disappointing coffee but otherwise super breakfast with cold and hot buffet. Book a bed and breakfast room if you will require breakfast. Restaurant food prices expensive. "
