Room was clean but definitely feel like they skimped on some of the amenities. Room was listed to have record player and didn’t, only received after calling and asking. Rooftop bar was closed for a private event so I didn’t even get to check that out. Vip drink ticket was only given to me after I asked. "

Appreciated the focus on sustainability (reusable water bottles in the room, filtered water station on each floor, reusable cloth shopping bag in each unit). "It was my first visit to The Porter House and I was generally happy with my stay. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator, which they were able to accommodate. It was a lovely touch to see my name displayed on the TV when we entered the room, and a bottle of wine and a hand-written card. It's the little things that made the stay enjoyable. "We appreciated how modern the facilities were. The room was quite small but it was adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was roomy. A Dyson hairdryer made an excellent impression. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine in the room and the filtered water that was available in the corridor outside our room. The hotel is very conveniently located for transport options (including to and from the airport) and walking distance to Darling Harbour and the new Sydney Fish Market...

"As we were checking in, the staff were quite rude and spoke to us in a very patronising way, almost as though we were children. Although I was the person checking in, they asked to see everyone’s ID, which felt unnecessary. They also tried to charge us again for parking, insisting it hadn’t been paid despite us already paying for it. Overall, the customer service was disappointing, especially considering the amount of money we spent."

"The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is centrally located with many eateries and major sight-seeing spots around. It is also very close to the light rail station and the train station. The room is stylishly designed and clean, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The only setback is the TV in the room, which we could not find a way to enjoy despite our 8-day stay there. "The Hotel presented clean modern and new. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurants presented well and all the goods delicious. I would recommmend staying at least once. It is a bit pricey but worth the experience."

"We found the bathroom in a deplorable condition due to mould. The shower head was partially blocked as well. We've stayed here a number of times and know that that it is an old hotel but there is no excuse for this condition."
