Welcome to Drop Anchor, a charming vacation retreat nestled in the coastal town of Cape Charles, VA. Located just steps away from a private beach and only a few blocks to a public beach, this newly updated family-friendly Beach House offers the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure. Situated in the gated and safe community of Bay Creek, Kings Bay Drive provides a tranquil and secure environment for your vacation. Whether you are looking to soak up the sun on the sandy beaches of the Chesapeake Bay, enjoying the community pool and tennis courts in Bay Creek, or exploring the historic town of Cape Charles and natural beauty of the area, this rental property is the ideal home base.

This vacation rental has 3 decks, rear paver patio with plenty of outdoor seating, weber gas grill, a wet bar on the third floor with magnificent water views, corn hole boards, 2 paddle boards, 8 beach chairs with beach umbrellas and beach towels for your use. The home also has board games and a ping pong table in the garage. We offer one 6-passenger Golf Cart for a separate fee that can be used during your vacation stay. A signed release of liability is required to operate or rent the golf cart and they must be over the age of 18 with a valid driver's license. Cape Charles is a golf cart friendly community, and it makes transportation much easier to get around town, to the local beaches, and transporting your paddleboards and beach needs.

Step inside this recently updated vacation home and feel instantly at ease. The interior features a coastal decorated living space, designed with your comfort in mind. First floor features Master bedroom with king bed, wall mounted smart TV, spacious bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower, walk-in closet and sliding doors leading out to the 1st floor deck. 2nd Bedroom located on first floor features queen bed, wall mounted smart TV, private access to full bathroom, walk-in closet and sliding doors leading out to the 1st floor deck. Second floor features 3rd Bedroom with King bed, wall mounted smart TV and private access to full bathroom. 4th bedroom also located on second floor has bunk bed with single on top and double on bottom with pull out trundle along with a separate twin bed. Lastly there is a comfortable queen sofa bed located on third floor. All bedding, linens and towels are provided with your rental.

The fully equipped kitchen provides all the amenities you need to whip up your favorite dishes. From morning coffee to gourmet dinners, you'll find everything you need at your fingertips. We offer both a Keurig and coffee maker depending on your preference as well as an air fryer and blender. Adjacent from the family dining table you'll find a screened in patio area where you can enjoy the fresh coastal air and take in the serene surroundings. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, this outdoor space is the perfect spot to unwind.

With the beach just a short stroll away, you'll have endless opportunities for water activities and relaxation. We had an amazing stay at Drop Anchor. The location was perfect, the home is spacious with great outdoor spaces, especially the screened porch! Cape Charles did not disappoint!

We planned a sibling weekend with our family’s included. Our brother and spouse from Iceland joined us and the rest of traveled down from Richmond. 2 hour drive and were there. Amazing community and the house….wow! Cure private beach nearby but i definitely recommend the beach in town. Easy drive in the golf cart or car. Lots of. Ute shopped and place to eat. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back.

This house is nicely decorated and well appointed. The kitchen is fully furnished with all the necessary equipment and plate ware. The furniture is comfortable and high quality. The garages are also equipped with beach equipment, games, and an excellent golf cart (extra fee for use).

We had an incredible weekend in Cape Charles at Drop Anchor. We've been renting places in CC for the past 10 years, and this was the cleanest and most well-appointed home we've ever rented. My husband and I invited 4 friends to CC for the weekend bc they had never been, and they fell in love with everything! The golf cart was amazing, and we had the best time. Timely responses and detailed notes and emails from property manager. Thank you so much for having us at Drop Anchor! We’ll definitely rent this beautiful home again!

The openness of the living, dining and sitting area was awesome! The layout a bit different, the only bathroom on the main floor was really used allot! Wish it was a seperate bathroom.

We really enjoyed staying at Drop Anchor. The home was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed including the use of the golf cart. Communication with Trey was outstanding. He was always quick to respond to my emails. We will definitely book this home in the future!

What a great home to relax and enjoy time together while experiencing beautiful and quant Cape Charles. Drop Anchor had all the amenities needed for a wonderful long weekend. This beautiful, very clean, comfortable and well stocked home was central to all activities and restaurants. The beds and linens were super comfy and we rested well in the quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed early morning sunrise coffee on the screened porch and then hopped on our rented carts and were able to explore all the natural beauty of the beaches, the community pool, the close-by museum, restaurants and down town shoppes. Coming home to lots of yard games provided was super fun. We would LOVE to rent Drop Anchor again next visit. Trey was awesome to work with - kind, helpful, and super fast to communicate. Highly recommend! Thank you, Trey for helping make our family weekend so special!

Wonderful stay in an immaculate house. Weather was a little rainy during our week but we had plenty of space to spread out and things to do for the teens. Enjoyed the ping pong table, paddle boards, multiple walks into the downtown area and local shops, and of course the nice calm sandy beach. Added benefit that all the chairs and towels we needed were ready and waiting. Bedrooms and kitchens were spacious and very clean. We cooked for 9-10 every night in the kitchen which was stocked with everything we needed for a large group. Host was easily accessible for a couple of questions we had, overall a very well-managed property and a lovely small town area.

Great house accommodations, close to the Bay and only a 50min drive to the Ocean. The town was quaint and close enough to walk. The property manager was quick to respond to questions and/or issues. The house was spotless, even the window sills were dust free! Would 100% recommend.

This is an exceptional place to stay. Beautiful home inside and out. Having owned a beach rental property before we were more aware of the essentials renters like to have to make their stay more enjoyable. This property exceeded our expectations. Very clean throughout and a well-outfitted kitchen. Also, very well-equipped for families with children. Many small details were thought of. Host was great to deal with and provided us with a lot of helpful information and made himself available to any questions or concerns. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to vacation in Cape Charles.

This was the nicest rental we have ever stayed in. The kitchen was completely equipped for cooking in as July 4th week is popular in Cape Charles. The amenities were far beyond anything we have experienced. Recently renovated, the decor was gorgeous and very upscale. The owner was immediately responsive for a couple questions. Being provided quality sheets, towels, beach towels, beach chairs was a plus. We spent alot of time outside with at least six areas to gather with our family. Will definitely rent again.

We had a great stay in Cape Charles! The house was beautiful and very well equipped with everything you could need. The optional golf cart rental was a great addition for our group and was very comparable to the local rental but a much nicer vehicle. Working with property management was a breeze, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing get away.

I can't say enough about how beautifully furnished and clean this home was. Everything we needed for our stay at the beach (including things we hadn't even thought of) was there and in great condition. This house is thoughtfully organized, with wonderful private spaces in addition to generously-sized common areas for spending time together as a group. The owner was great with prompt communication and information about the property and the neighborhood. We loved our stay and really hope to be able to return to this house in the future.

Everything was wonderful! The house is amazing and fully stocked with everything you need. A short walk to beach access and a short ride to the shopping distract and restaurants. The host great. One of the nicest VRBO’s we have ever rented.
