"Excellent property. No air conditioning or way to regulate room temp except a barely open window. The noise is big until 2 am because several bars across street and castle has military tattoo. Comfortable and adequate. They clean well but when we checked in the outside of our toilet had a small smear of stool. Thank goodness we had Clorox wipes"

"This place was clean, easy to access, and in a perfect location. It was a 2-minute walk to the bus stops for city and tour busses. A coffee shop and a pub are directly below, but neither could be heard from the flat. The gulls were rather noisy in the morning, but honestly, it’s part of the experience. I would rebook in a heartbeat! "

"Loved staying at Abbey Strand! Very historic building but with all modern conveniences. Quiet part of Royal Mile away from noise & traffic but easy walk to anywhere. No air conditioning but temps are generally cooler. Definitely recommend a stay when in Edinburgh."

"Pleasant, welcoming and fit for purpose. Condition of communal area tatty and bathroom could be cleaner. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location and great to have Sainsburys and bus stop near by. Superb for park and Arthur's seat, access to Royal Mile and train station. All in all - I would stay again. Price reflects accomodation and clearly states it is not a hotel. I enjoyed my stay in Edinburgh."

"We had a lovely time. From the moment we were greeted at reception on the first day till the day we left. Everyone was so nice and couldn’t have done enough for us. Our 2 dogs were made so welcome and our dining experience wasn’t reduced in any way because of them. Harriet should get a mention as nothing was too much trouble for her. It was also lovely to meet the owner Bill who made sure everything was running smoothly. We cannot empathise how fabulous the food was. Simply amazing. An excellent...

We were only there one night and didn't get to use the library or frequent the bar. But we want to next time. Set in a safe neighborhood within walking distance of the tram and buses. Great value!"
