"Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. "

The wait staff was exceptional as well. The food was excellent, the setting idyllic, and location walkable to The Chatsworth House! We could not wait to write a glowing review as we cannot recommend this hotel enough! We suggest you give your entire staff a raise as they were top notch and whoever hired them...

"Would have given a 5 star review but unfortunately neither me or my wife could have a shower, water would only come out at super hot no matter how I tried to ad cold it just stayed boiling hot. Both had to wash in the sink as a consequence. We were in room 6"

"Excellent location, lovely staff and clean rooms with a great shower for post-hike/bike. The rooms were a little hot during the heatwave, even at night where the temperature outside was a good 10 degrees cooler than inside the room. Windows were not large enough to provide sufficient airflow I think The restaurant was not worth the price - there are plenty of fantastic, cheaper options in the nearby hathersage/hope area. "My 3 daughters and I stayed one night here on a road trip. We had a suite which was not connected to the main hotel but in a quaint, hidden lot. The area was well lit and felt safe enough. The single beds were a bit uncomfortable with a hard bar across the center. The bathrooms were nice and clean with nice a shower and large tub. Check-in was quick and easy, and the desk staff were friendly. My only complaint was that the website states there is on-site laundry facilities but we were told that...
