July and August 2025 Summer rentals: check in/out's are Saturday and are 1 full week bookings. Short term bookings start again as of Aug 30th.

Built in 2022, direct waterfront cottage is perfect for family getaways, situated directly on 160 ft of waterfront on Buckhorn Lake with endless fun and possibilities.

This cottage has 5 private outdoor seating areas.
Cottage is 5,000 square feet, 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 bathroom.

Includes small sandy beach area, 160 ft of armour stone shoreline and beach volleyball.

Boasting a year round covered hot tub, crystal rail glass, 10 foot running river dining room table for 10, soaring 16 foot living room and dining ceilings, master bedroom log bed with walkout to deck, and breathtaking water views from each bedroom. Laundry on site.

For the kids and adults alike, our Rec Room contains a pool table, ping pong table, foosball, poker table, karaoke, 75" 4K TV, and an arcade pac-man.

At the waterfront enjoy our water trampoline (June, July, August, Sept months only) 4 kayaks, set of stand up paddle boards, a paddle boat, beach area, beach volleyball and more!

Waterfront bunkie/boat house open from May - Sept where you will find life jackets.

Cozy up to the fire pit at the waterfront. No need to bring your own firewood, everything is already on site. BBQ on lower level. Great room TV has Bell Satellite TV & Chrome Cast. (**pay per view extra). Rec room has 75", 4K TV, and Chrome Cast.

Buckhorn Blue

Fantastic stay. Property is spotless and has everything you need. Communication with the hosts was rapid and helpful. Lots of indoor activities (ping pong, pool table, arcade, foosball) for rainy days. Fishing off the dock was excellent. Shallow entry to the water for young kids, although fair amount of weeds about 10 feet from shoreline. Buckhorn is not a particularly deep lake along this shoreline, which means the water is warm, but no diving and a bit of vegetation. Overall, a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend.

Buckhorn Blue is spectacular!

We had a fabulous week at Buckhorn Blue! The house is beautiful - inside and out. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen is FULLY stocked with everything you need and lots of things you didn't know you needed - the coffee was very much appreciated! The games in the game room are well maintained, fun and were enjoyed by three generations. And there was no shortage of fun outdoors - kayaks, paddleboards, volleyball, a firepit and weedless 'beach' area allowed for great swimming and lake activities. Even a power outage didn't damper our trip, as the generator kicked in and we didn't even notice. Thank you Kathy and John for being so responsive and thoughtful - we had a wonderful week and hope to be able to book again!

This is a beautiful property!! There are so many games available to play and lots of water activities. It's very clean and spacious and the hosts are extremely friendly and quick to respond! Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Buckhorn Blue Cottage

This amazing cottage is exactly as is described on VRBO. The Buckhorn Blue cottage is built with all high end materials, deco and and appliances. The main floor is all open concept that look out on the Trent River Myself and 12 ladies spent the weekend in this amazing cottage and were very comfortable in the 5 bedroom and 4 1/2 bathroom cottage The owners Kathy and John Sokolowski are very helpful and always available if needed. It is obvious the owner take great pride in there cottage as it is very clean and setup beautifully. The cottage is perfect for a group of people or family. I will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend that anyone readying this review will convince you to do the same. Darlene

Perfect Weekend!

Our group of 12 friends had the best weekend at Buckhorn Blue! The cottage was even better than it looked in pictures and fit all of us very comfortably. Wonderful Vacation Week

This large, beautiful vacation home was perfectly suited to our family of eleven (age range 18 to 75).One of the highlights of the place for us was the huge maple table in the dining area where we could enjoy each others company at meal times. The spacious kitchen was well appointed with up to date amenities. At one point all the tables in the Games Room were in use simultaneously! We enjoyed paddling, hiking and biking. It was a magical week! Thank you.

Luxury on the Lake!

Our group of 10 just loved our stay. Buckhorn Blue has everything you could ever ask for including the A+ service from Kathy & John. The beautiful location and the numerous inside and outside games kept our group of 8 (16 to 19yr olds) constantly active. My wife and I truly enjoyed every minute of this luxurious lake house. Thank you so much Kathy for your hospitality. Buckhorn Blue is a gem in The Kawarthas.

Property is beyond amazing! Owners thought of everything, right down to last detail inside and out to make our stay feel like home.! Owners respond immediately to any questions. Amazing Stay!

Such a large place with so many rooms. Loved the activities downstairs. Even with the fire ban we still had so much to do. Photos don’t even do this place justice. Also very close to a golf course which was perfect for us. Kathy was very quick to respond and very helpful. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely Stunning!

Spent the weekend at this Buckhorn lake property with friends to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday and it was amazing. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they are very quick to respond. Check in was fast and simple. The place was immaculate, and very well organized and stocked. The property is big with a great view of the lake with lots of outdoor space and furniture. The bedrooms are gorgeous with the most comfortable beds and pillows. We loved preparing food in the spacious kitchen. Everything was so perfect! We would love to go back again. Thank you!

Stunning Cottage - Highly Recommend

The cottage is beautiful (with great attention to detail) and has lots of games, activities, etc. to do on the property. We had 11 adults and it was very spacious. The kitchen comes with essential items which was useful and all instructions were easy to understand. The Hot Tub was an added bonus. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Amazing buckhorn stay

We had an amazing New Year’s weekend at Kathy’s beautiful home in buckhorn. Its the perfect place to spend with a group of friends and family. We were 13 people and had all we needed for a memorable stay - from karaoke, hot tub, games to a well-stocked kitchen and relaxing living area. The location was perfect. We’ll definitely go back again.

The best experience!

Kathy was amazing at communicating the instructions on how to get to the location and how to enter the cottage. The cottage was super clean and very organised! She had everything in the kitchen that you can name, including a ton of spices! The lake was beautiful and the hot top was perfect. The bbq was also very easy to use as well as the fire pit. Everyone loved the space and enjoyed everything that came with it. The ping pong table, karaoke, poker table, foseball table, and Pac-Man to top it off. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend!

Spectacular weekend getaway with friends!

We were looking for a quick place to get away for 2 nights with a few couples (6 adults total guests) and found this gem on VRBO! Bit hesitant to book it since it only had 1 review but after reaching out to the owner Kathy, we learned the cottage was just built 2 months ago. This cottage is more like a spectacular luxury home rental. It was everything we expected and more! Although the basement was not quite finished, it did not concern us since we only required the 3 bedrooms on the main floor. And this is not a basement but a beautiful walk-out to ground/waterfront level with tons of windows. The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture both indoors and outdoors and kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would ever need. We cooked and grilled the entire weekend and had all the luxuries of a home kitchen with large dining space both at the island and gorgeous dining table! The bedrooms and bathrooms are also well stocked with linens, towels, and extra cozy blankets. Loved the walk-in shower in the main ensuite! The weather was unusually warm for an early November weekend, so it was a bonus to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and hot tub which was ready for our arrival! Fire pit also stocked with plenty of wood! Love the fact that the hot tub is underneath the upper deck, so it is somewhat protected from rain or snow. Kathy, the owner was amazing and very quick to respond to any questions we had. You can certainly tell, she goes out of her way to ensure the guests have an enjoyable stay in her beautiful lakefront home. We cannot wait to see what the home will look like when the ground level is completely finished and would love to return again in the future! Thank you, Kathy, for making our friends getaway that much better!

Absolutely stunning property

Absolutely stunning property! Everything was literally brand new, and the place was sparkling clean and the views were just breathtaking. We were fortunate and had great weather and were able to spend most of our days at the waterfront and on the beach volleyball. The rest of the time was spent on the upper deck overlooking the lake. Kids spent their time in the game area, tons of things to do, there was certainly no shortage of things to do here. Loved the hot tub under the deck, so relaxing!!!! The aqua blue glass system was something we have not seen before and was an awesome addition! The boat house was full of things to do on the water. Love the overall vibe of the cottage and the details that went into making sure our experience was a memorable one. Thanks for a great experience, we had a fantastic time. We will see you next year!
