"Great stay for a family of four with kids 4 & 6. A calm, relaxing property with friendly staff and tasty Japanese food options we all enjoyed. Kids loved the Onsen bath in the room & wearing katana to dinner. Shuttle bus service was brilliant. I’d recommend taking some small activities to dinner for the kids as it can be a 2hr sitting. "

"The photos do not do it justice. This house is immaculate! I love the smell of new construction. Every room was nicely done, super clean, full amenities, everything you'd need to be comfortable. An easy 8-10 min walk from the train station even with rolling our carry on luggage. The 7-11 store is about a 3 min walk. There are about 2-3 bus stops very close to the house depending on which route you're heading to. This was a good base to stay for the Hakone loop. We walked to the Open Air Museum...

"The property is right up next to the mountain,and will need to drive or make use of the Uzi Bus system to get to the locality ,but this makes it very unique. "

"Beautiful Mt Fuji views from our suite. The most incredible and responsive service from the front office staff who provided efficient and timely transportation by shuttle to nearby bus/transportation stops as well as to dinner and even the conbini one night when the only restaurant that was open (Jan 1) was full. It is definitely a food desert in that area, but we made do just fine. We enjoyed the shared onsen which was not busy at all. "

"The villa is great. We loved everything about the unit. It was spacious and clean, had lots of amenities, and the private onsen was great. The layout for us (6 people) was awesome. The unit had multiple toilets and places to get ready. The fully equipped kitchen was very much welcomed. While we did not cook, and only heated up store-bought food and cup noodles, there are pots and pans and even an outdoor grill if you want to cook. There is even a vending machine that has limited food options...

"The staff is attentive and the onsen is very relaxing. The hotel sometimes feels like a maze. Even though it said on its website that they had a SPA continuously, it was closed for the day we went (tuesday); double check that. The buffet breakfast is definitely worth taking. The walks around the hotel and next to the lake will show you beautiful sights. Walking distance to the waterside shrine and the Laketown. "

"This hotel was good-hearted and the food was Japanese artistry. It is an older property and has a very “mountain lodge” kind of feel. The food was interesting but challenging for an unadventurous North American eater. It goes well beyond sushi to escargot and tiny octopi (squids?) over cucumber and a miso sauce. I was impressed with the look of this but I am weak on seafood and so it wasn’t that easy to eat. I expect that it is very seasonal and probably changes to make sure the food is the...
