This great house that sleep up to 15 Guests with free parking on the driveway.

Thornbury House is a great place for you and your family to enjoy together. Sleeping 15 guests over 8 bedrooms. Beds are set up as standard as 2 super king, 3 doubles and 5 single beds however can be arranged either 7 singles and 3 doubles or 1 single, 3 doubles and 4 super king instead if needed.  

The property is in a great location for you to explore Ocean Village, which has great views and plenty ofshops and restaurants for you to choose from.  

If you are traveling on the cruise line from Southampton this is the place for you as it is located a short 10 minutes’ drive away from you. Or if you fancya day trip to the Isle of Wight there is a short 30 mins crossing to the island to Cowes.  

Thornbury House has 8 bedrooms across the 3 floors 4 with ensuites plus there is an additional family bathroom for all to use. There is a lovely kitchen for your use with dining for up to 10 guests plus additional stools. You will also find a separate lounge area for relaxing in with a flat screen TV with over 100 virgin channels for you to choose from. There is free WIFI throughout the property.  

On the first floor you will find the lounge, kitchen diner, 2 bedrooms with ensuites and the utility room with a separate WC. In the utility room you can make use of the washing machine.  

On the second floor you will find four more bedrooms. Two of them have bathrooms and 1 has a WC.  

The third floor has two bedrooms and a shower room. They are both super king bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a kitchenette.  

Outside there is plenty of room for you to enjoy the sun and a glass of wine and relax in the large garden. There is driveway parking at the property for 2 large cars or vans.  

The city is famous for its excellent shopping centre – the West Quay and the medieval Bargate. Another interesting fact about Southampton is that it’s one of the 18 UK cities that don’t have a cathedral (historically, cathedral cities were granted city status by virtue of having a Cathedral).  

Southampton City Art Gallery specialises in modern British art. Solent Sky Museum features vintage aircraft like the iconic Spitfire. Tudor House & Garden displays artifacts covering over 800 years of history, including a penny-farthing bike.  

In Southampton, most of the top attractions are scattered around the city, including the Tudor House and Garden, the old city walls, the Sea City Museum, and the Titanic Trail. For easy access to all these attractions as well as the port, the centre of town makes a great base - especially for first-time visitors.

Conference in Southampton

This house was a disappointment.We were booked to stay 4 nights, but just stayed one. The posted photos do not resemble the actual property, which is quite tired, in need of repair, and felt generally dirty. There were handprints on the walls of some of the rooms.There was a smell that the cleaners attempted to mask with air freshener. Unfortunately one of us is allergic to the chemicals in the air freshener, making for a sleepless night. The outside of the property is a mess, with bags of garbage lying near the driveway, a broken bench out front, along with a door lying on the ground near the main entrance. One of the showers only ran hot water, and the toilet needed to be 'pumped' to get it to flush. The property manager is Pillow Partners. I will be avoiding any property managed by them in the future. There were a few issues getting checked in, mostly related to poor communication. I have had many wonderful experiences booking with VRBO over the past few years. This was not one of them.I do not recommend this property.

Not a suitable property for large party

) Locked out when we arrived, not possible to contact the venue manager at any time, before or during our stay. Main office sorted 'no key' in 20 minutes. 2) 15 comfy clean and pleasant beds, but only 8 people can sit round a table and 2 on bar stools sideways by work surface. Others have to stand to eat. 3) only 8 forks and despite phone calls no one was able to provide any more. 4) only six people can sit on a sofa in the living room 5)no plug or bowl for kitchen sink had to wash up (including babies bottles) in a saucepan. 6) 2 baths only 1 plug 7) advert states " outside there is plenty room for you to enjoy the sun and a glass of wine and relax in the large garden." Not possible.... long grass, weeds though the paving stones, pots full of dead plants, 2 ancient wobbly wooden benches ..3 disgusting dirty plastic chairs... a dirty rusty old bar b q full of water... and no table to put the wine glass on even if you wanted to sit in this depressing place. Not a suitable venue for a large party with very poor communication from the company.

Good house for a large group

The house is decent value and conveniently located. It comes across as a work in progress though, and decoratively tired in places. However it was ideal for what we needed as a large group of adults looking for somewhere to crash for a couple of nights, not too far from town.
