"Issues about the room Open the door - strong musky smell even with the window open. On arrival in the room I had to remove 5 spiders (each in different corners of the room) aswell as several cobwebs. Carpet had a massive stain upon entering the room which probably added to the musky smell. Room uninviting and very small for double. Décor was 1970's styled, looking incredibly dated. Bath had large scattered spots of paint so you certainly wouldn't bath in it. Can’t shave as there’s no plug in...

"Really nice staff - friendly and helpful. Location is good - right across from the beach so you can hear the sound of the sea from the bedroom. Room itself is tired and could do with an update. No locker on one side of the bed. The use a macerator in the bathrooms so it makes a loud noice when you flush the loo or empty a basis. We had no hot water when we were there. "Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy."

"Location was perfect. 5 minute walk to beach and old Shanklin. lovely and a very good sized house. Service from the Island company was great when we advised the rug smelt of dog likely from previous guest. Came and collected rug. Maybe just make it clearer there is a tight turning to access rear of property for parking. We had no issues but less confident driver may struggle but doesn’t detract from lovely stay in the property and week on the island."
