Seend Cleeve The village of Seend is in two parts, the main village is on the A361 to the east, this is Seend Cleeve. "The name of Seend is possibly derived from the old English word for sand, and it is clear that the ridge of greensand on which it lies, rising up out of the heavy marshy lands to north and south, attracted a settlement at an early date. Soon after the Norman Conquest there was a village here, with a church, forming part of the royal hunting forest of Melksham. In AD 1200, the King gave the living to the Dean and Chapter of Salisbury Cathedral, who still have the duty of appointing the vicar, although the tithes which used to swell the cathedral revenues have long been abolished." Seend Head Looking down to Seend Head Mill, a long disused mill on the Semington Brook. Quite a small brook but still able to power a grist mill, perhaps it could be used to generate electricity for the grid.

Excellent condition. Staff with positive attitude. Rooms are small but functional and very up to date. I would have preferred the option of a thinner pillow.

Apartment was very clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable with a great bathroom. Very central location, great for exploring Bath. Some noise around 7am when they deliver towels to the Spa next door, but otherwise quiet, as it's on side street/no through road.
